Throughout the celebration, through casual conversation,
Flynn?learns that a ship is leaving
Helmsport on the East coast sailing for
Amn?with wares of spices and feathers and gold.
Considering the distance and season,?
North?calculates the journey of roughly 2400 nautical miles to take about two Tendays, give or take a day or two. (OOC-
reminder: in Forgotten Realms, a week is ten days, and therefore, called a Tenday. /OOC)
However,
Cerina?(Ear To The Ground) has heard rumors of strategic portals at sea that allow the distance to be closed in a much shorter time period.
Whilst drinking with a pair of Leonin Warriors,
Sweet William?hears tale of an underground ¡®tunnel¡¯ in the desert that leads through veins of gold to Amn, however only the
Dwarves of the Sands of Iztcalaknow where this is and they are notoriously difficult to find, let alone negotiate with.
A pair of Tabaxi maidens fan cool air over
Tabby?and praise her with compliments, mentioning that she would look goddesslike draped in the sparkling crystals of The Caves.
Fine rubies, emeralds, and sapphires belong all over a heroine of her prowess.
Even
Brother Ashley?is drawn in by rumors. He almost hesitates to mention it to the Gnomish Sorcerer but too much drink loosens his lips and he reveals knowledge about the magicks lost forever within the mazes of the
Bay of Shoals?in nearby
Pezelac.
Rumors abound in the jungle, and food and drink brings exaggerated tales with each teller trying to one-up the last. Eventually night falls but the revelry continues on late into the night and even somesuch into
the wee early dawn.
By mid morning you¡¯ve all awakened feeling well rested and energetic, ready to seek out a new challenge.
Do you continue to explore Maztica? Seek out the ship back to mainland Faerun? Rest and recover another day or more? Something else?
And what do you do?
