Where to buy midcentury looking legs
Hello, I'm buying a set of DQ10's that have long lost thier stands. I've seen some with 3 midcentury looking legs. Where can I buy some of those that work well for the speaker? From what I've read they do better at about 10" off the floor so legs to get it that high would be nice....but anything is better than the floor.?
I dont have time right now to build full stands. Just want to get some legs others have used that look good (cute midcentury look that the wife likes) and are sturdy. Thanks! |

If you want the small ones, eBay is your best bet. Don't pay much. On Sun, Oct 17, 2021 at 6:53 PM <Stephen@...> wrote: Hello, I'm buying a set of DQ10's that have long lost thier stands. Greeting, you might want to set them up on temporary blocks or something higher. Experiment with a height around where the tweeters are horizontal with your ears while seated. You will then likely decide to either elevate stock stands with bases. Which is a viable solution or custom build steel square tubing fully adjustable stands. Which is the plan here one fine day...Those short legs are interesting if you have a small room and use beanbag or similar chairs. Once you experience that setup you will likely never forget it. Whatever you do get them out into the room and away from the walls if possible. DD On Mon, Oct 18, 2021, 9:19 AM Darian Russo <darian@...> wrote: this is great!!!? Exactly what i was looking for!! |

开云体育Are they attached with something like a bracket that has 3 or 4 wood screws?-------- Original message -------- From: Miguel Rodriguez <rodr800@...> Date: 10/18/21 4:23 PM (GMT-06:00) Subject: Re: [DahlquistSpeakers] Where to buy midcentury looking legs Here you are. 开云体育Thank you Bob, are those dark legs the factory ones? It looks like it probably only has one screw going through the block into the leg, then the two attaching the block to the speaker. Does it seem nice and sturdy that way? Thanks! 开云体育I believe they are - they came on mine. ? Yes 1 screw. ?As to how sturdy - notice they are not on the speakers just sitting around able to be photographed. ? 2 of them failed on me. ? In process of building myself a set of the more traditional stands.

开云体育Where did they fail at? The 1 screwgoing through the block into the leg?? ?Roughly how thick is that block and how long are the screws going into the cabinet? Thanks for all the info, this is VERY helpful! -------- Original message -------- From: Bob Trabucco <bobtrabucco@...> Date: 10/18/21 7:46 PM (GMT-06:00) Subject: Re: [DahlquistSpeakers] Where to buy midcentury looking legs

I'm thinking of buying these I linked too below. They are oak, come in a set of four and several stains to pick from. They also can be ordered from 3" to 7" long and straight, 10 degree angle, 20 degree angle.? Being attached to a metal bracket that gives 3 screws to mount to the cabinet they seem like they would be pretty solid. They are made for furniture so should be up to the task of 60lb speakers.
Do you guys see any potential problems using these? I might still attach them to a block, I'm undecided about that. I'm not sure if I want to cut the back legs shorter to give a tilt or keep them straight. https://www.etsy.com/listing/970982153/ikea-kallax-shelves-4-replacement-legs?ref=lx_share |
Those should work. In general because the drivers are separated widely from one another there is a single sweet axis. This represents the axis where the sound from each driver arrives at the same instant and hence is reasonably coherent. This generally on the tweeter axis. The enclosure should be tilted back so that the tweeter point direct at you ears when seated in the normal listening position.?
Additionally they should be toed in so the tweeters are aimed at the ears horizontally.? When you play mono pink noise from the system you should hear a very defined central noise image when you find the right up/dn and left/right orientation when seated as you normally listen. |
