DQ-20 Badge Reglue
I would use goop glue, but I am sure others will have their favorites as well.?? A hot glue gun would work as well, but I think goop would be less messy and far less prone to over application of glue.? Goop is flexible, so it is great for repairs like this that will vibrate or flex. Once a small amount of goop glue is put on the back of this name plate it should stay in place after gluing and placing it where you want it.? I would put the speaker on its back for this process to ensure it stays where you want it while it dries.?? Goop glue is a great all purpose glue for more flexible repairs that do not need to be rock hard when dry (like epoxy). I just refurbished a set of these complete.? (And I've done hundreds of other speakers)
For the badges I used hot melt glue.? On the DQ-20 I first hit it from the front, then turned the grill around and hit it from the back to make sure the badge adhered to the metal grill in addition to the grill cloth... |
Thank you. Did you pick the old glue out of the?grill cloth so the glue could penetrate? On Mon, Jan 16, 2023 at 5:13 PM KalamaKurt <kfisher@...> wrote: I just refurbished a set of these complete.? (And I've done hundreds of other speakers) |
