Re: replacement woofer
It is correct to assume the Large Advent speaker was NOT an exact replacement. The DQ-10 woofer cone was stiffened with shellac immersion and that would change the Theil parameters. I do not know the

Re: replacement woofer
FYI, contrary to popular belief. The DQ-10 woofer is not identical to the Large Advent. They look the same but I believe the OEM 10 woofer has a slightly longer throw. Which means a longer wound voice

Re: replacement woofer
I may have an original pair of DQ10 woofers that I will sell. They do need a refoam, but they would be as close to original as you can get. Let me check and I will get back to you, that's if you are

Re: replacement woofer
Not the cheapest option, but a replacement DQ-10 Driver from Regnar is $188.75 each, and they recommend buying two so you have a matched set. http://dahlquistonlinestore.com/DQ-10_c_45.html There

Re: Crossovers
To answer w e's question; No woofer obstruction at all, and the tweeter / midrange array is right at ear level when I'm on the couch across the room so it sounds great. And after I did the White Oak

Re: Crossovers
I have 2 DQ1's, both of which are the same dimensions. Interesting that yours are different.? Do they both have the same driver?? If so, I'd be interested in the degree of change to frequency

Re: Crossovers
I own two DQ-1’s as well, but the strange thing is that is a difference in depth of about an inch between the two. Anyone else know anything about that manufacturing variance?
Re: Crossovers
Wow Dave - Seriously innovative way to incorporate the home theater into the 10!! I was wondering what that mystery shadow was! This makes for a rather impressive structure that elicits the phrase

Hi John, I'm an EE and an audio enthusiast of over 50 years, for what it's worth. I highly recommend that you not change any resistors or inductors unless you know that they are out of specification.

Greetings everyone! John, thank you for your recommendations. I checked the operating temperature of the two 4 ohm resistors, during playback and they averaged just above ambient temperature. My 61
