20(I) or 20’s don’t come close to the DQ 10’s entire system with Lp1 active xo, and a 300+ wpc max amp. I found the two dq1’s are happy with 100 wpc amp ( brand didn’t change much) providing it all runs into a Mac preamp On Wed, Jan 22, 2025 at 9:47?AM richard adelberg via <richardadelberg= [email protected]> wrote:

The 30(I) don’t sound like DQ 10’s! I had them side by side for a while.? I also have a DQ-10 set but I prefer the 20 to save space.

Pm me, any would be better the 70 wpc Yamaha, since I’ve tried so many amps, brands, I can say I worked my way up the 2500 500wpc . I began with a Pioneer sx1250 (165 wpc) and Polk powered sub. I even tried MAC 4100 receiver which BTW IS PROB ?the best cost effective way to obtain a MAC tuner, preamp and 100 wpc amp, for a long while I used it as my tuner and preamp before I bought MR78 and c31v with remote . I can confidently say that the DQ10’s performed much better through each diff amp! Although there’s only a small diff between ma2300 and 2500! However the channel separation was the most obvious difference.?

I don’t need all 3 Mac amps, since I lost left ear hearing there’s no point in having 2205/ 2300/2500 . I have two LP1 sub xo and one MX 1 , enough drivers to build two Dq10’s sets .?

Hey all! I Want to thank you all for your input (and comforting). I should have done more due diligence before the transaction! My lesson! Hey I'd love to see some of fellow members gear! I'd like to see others Dahlquist setups! I think the line for over-improvment is pretty wide...as I love the look of Dahlquist. They aren't your HPM-XXX! So what you got! Mick

This is a replacement that has been well received. A good choice if you can’t find the original 10” in a 12” frame woofer.?
