I’ve owned my DQ10’s since 1980. I’ve listened to a variety of speakers, in an attempt to replace them and I found nothing to compare. The Maggie’s were on my list and while I found them very transparent, they completely lacked the dynamics of the DQ10’s, by comparison sounding flat and lifeless - I didn’t like them. I’m sure there are better sounding/performing speakers, but, you’re going to pay a great deal more!
Also, I think, when you listen to the same pair of speakers for 40 years, they’re bound to become your paradigm - something significantly better has to come along to displace them!?

I can relate completely. I bought a pair of DQ 12's and spent only $500 ...Sound is wide and deep, yet precise. I cannot believe what these speakers can do... I have heard Maggies and they cannot match?the fullness and richness. Many people simply have not heard of them or heard them and spend 2-3x the money on new gear.?
