REF Levels IC-7610

K4PRO

Noticed an issue with REF levels Commander Spectrum-Waterfall when used with IC-7610.

If this feature can be made to work correctly this is a awesome feature for IC-7610 and similar owners. One that Icom should have built into the firmware.

The issue i am seeing is that the REF per band is always one click behind.
Example:
I set the REF accordingly for testing purposes
160m -1
80m - 2
60m - 3
40m - 4
20m - 5
6m thru 15m - 0

I click on 10m then 15m Ref=0
click 160m Ref is at 0 should be 1
click 80m Ref is at 1 should be 2
click 60m Ref is at 2 should? be 3
click 160 Ref is at 3 should be 1
and so on.

Gain works as it should.

Also to note when selecting bands via IC-7610 front panel the gain changes as configured in Commander Spectrum-Waterfall, However Ref does not change at all.
Again excellent feature if we can get it to work correctly.

I could not replicate the problem until I tried the centered display option.

I can confirm the same behavior. I believe you caught a defect.

With fixed display it however works perfectly.?

This may have passed through the net when testing since I don't know of?
anyone, including myself, that ever use the centered display option.?

For pile-up work you are much better served by a zoomed-in fixed display with?
the DX at the far left. Dave put some really clever commands into Commander's?
command repertoire to support exactly this.

You can download a definition file for such a zoom button here:

+ So I can determine why the Ref levels aren't being correctly set when the Spectrum-Waterfall display is centered, please do the following:

1. on the General tab of Commander's Configuration window, check the "Log debugging info" box

2. with the REF levels set as you describe above, sequential click the 15m, 160m, 80m, 60m, and 160m Band buttons at the rate of one every 2 seconds

3. on the General tab of Commander's Configuration window, uncheck the "Log debugging info" box

4. attach the errorlog.txt file from your Commander folder to an email message, and send the message to me via
