Getting "Sat mode" to stick in DXKeeper log Capture window

New DXLabs user, starting out running DXKeeper stand alone.? I read in the help files where to set defaults for satellite modes, but when I open the Capture log window, nothing is preset.? So I have to enter satellite, mode and the TX and RX bands manually for each contact.??

1) What am I missing here?
2) Is there was way to easily change the default satellite and mode in the Capture window without editing defaults (multiple satellite passes back-to back)?

My read of the instructions is "it should just work."? I have a separate question for using LOTW, but will get to that later.

Thanks! 73 Steve KS1G

+ Welcome to DXLab, Steve!

, starting out running DXKeeper stand alone. I read in the help files where to set defaults for satellite modes, but when I open the Capture log window, nothing is preset. So I have to enter satellite, mode and the TX and RX bands manually for each contact.

1) What am I missing here?

+ Type a callsign into the Capture window's call box, and strike the Enter or Tab key; the default Propagation Mode, Satellite Name, and Satellite Mode specified on the Configuration window's Defaults tab will be used to populate the appropriate Capture window items.

2) Is there was way to easily change the default satellite and mode in the Capture window without editing defaults (multiple satellite passes back-to back)?

+ "Editing defaults" sounds like you are making modifications to a file, which is unnecessary, Simply change the selectors on the Configuration window's Defaults tab.

Thank you for the quick response; yes "tab" populates the other fields.??

Clarification on the other stuff:? By editing I meant the settings using the pull downs on the Config/Defaults tab.? Ex:? I'm working 2,3 satellite passes in quick succession; I want to quickly change satellite name and mode between passes.? Do I use the defaults tab for each pass, or leave it blank, set in the Capture window and it will stick until I change it??

Also, I noticed that the tx and rx freq does not follow the mode;? e.g. CAS4A and Move UV equates to tx of 435 MHz and rx of 145.? Leave he frequency fields blank and don't worry about it?? Concern is correct population of LOTW fields.? Eventually, I'll have DXKeeper and SatPC32 talking to each other and it'll happen automatically.??

Thanks!? 73 Steve KS1G

+ Between passes without SatPC32 interoperation, change the Satellite Name and Mode on the Configuration window's Defaults tab.

+ DXKeeper logs the frequencies reported by your transceiver or, when Commander is interoperating with SatPC32, the frequencies reported by SatPC32.?

+ When Commander is interoperating with SatPC32, the latter provides the uplink frequency, downlink frequency, transceiver mode, satellite name, and satellite mode to DXKeeper. See

SatPC32 integration working nicely now.? Thank you.
