DXKeeper Update Failure

I attempted to update my DXKeeper and the other programs that needed updated through the Launcher. I was given a warning to close DXKeeper before attempting to upgrade, so I closed it. When I attempted to upgrade I got a message file C:\DXLab\DXKeeper.exe does not exist. Sure enough it was not there. There was the DXKeeper1537 in the folder so I opened it successfully. It included my entire logbook, includingsome QSO's I made this evening in FT4 and FT8, so I immediately did a backup of my logbook. I have no idea where the DXKeeper.exe file went, so I copied the DXKeeper1537 and renamed the copy to DXKeeper.exe, however it still will not launch from the launcher, and I am not able to update to the new version. I'm not sure what to do next besides manually opening the DXKeeper1537 version.?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

There have been more than 450 messages posted here over the past week on the topic of DXLab executable files being quarantined or deleted by Microsoft anti-malware applications.

Your anti-malware application is defective, as you can see for yourself:

Dave, thank you for the quick reply. This is where I'm totally lost. I use Windows Defender. I have looked and all DXLabs apps are allowed, and have been that way. I have no idea where to go next?

1.?configure your anti-malware application to consider the DXLab application to be "safe"; otherwise, your anti-malware application may delete the re-created file

Can you or someone tell me more specifically how I do this above step? It's Win10. Is Windows Defender the same as the anti-malware application??

Figured it out with trial and error. I've never encountered anything like this before.?

+ Windows Defender is an anti-malware application; its full name is "Windows Defender Antivirus":

+ For liability reasons, I do not offer advice on configuring anti-malware applications. I suggest that you contact Microsoft support.

See: /g/DXLab/message/192460

You will need to repeat the first half twice - once to remove
Commander from quarantine and a second time to remove DXKeeper
from quarantine. The second half (excluding the entire DXLab
directory tree) should protect DXLab Suite from further attacks
by Defender.

Dave,

?I see all of the remedies listed above but before I do all of that I have one issue. Defender labels the threat as "Trojan:Win32/Azden.B!cl" Do I have a different issue or is this what everyone had been seeing with the DXKeeper upgrade? If so, I assume it is okay to perform the fixes listed above.

Steve,

Yes, that is the same threat that has been reported here by many others. I didn't try, but I suspect you can search this forum for that label and get many returns.

Thanks Jim. I will then repair DXKeeper. I don't know what I would do without it.
