Off topic.... software?

Gil Gibbs

All;

In in that unenviable position of needing software & programs to make
my "ancient" AEA (Now Timewave) Model PSK-232MBX/Pakratt 232 digital
node controller work properly again on the "new" XP OS. It seems that
the company isn't supporting the software anymore, and I'm in search of
some direction as to what to do to remedy this situation.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions, am hoping to put my
"little gray box" to work someday again!

Not at all off-topic, Gil: WinWarbler will support your PK232 as an
external modem. WinWarbler will manage RTTY and CW (transmit and
receive) operations for you. To use other modes supported by the
PK232, you'd have to type the appropriate mode-switching commands
manually.

Dave, et all whom helped....

I finally "resolved" my software problem when I found the original CD
with all the programs on it - placed where it wouldn't be harmed while I
was down sick. Getting my 'puters back to best performance levels, then
wiring up the mess again will be the next task. I'll give all the
suggested programs a try, as time permits, since I have no idea if the
transition from Win '98SE (blue screen of death, mostly!) to XP, in NT
mode, will work right or not. Only a lot of messing around with the
keyboard, mouse, and various guesses will give me a clue if B. Gates 'n
his OS systems will allow the gear to respond as per all the propaganda.

Thanks for the suggestions, now to see how my "over 60something" frame
will work in putting up antennas!
