The modes.txt file is missing.? Where can I download it?

Modes.txt is *user created*. If it is not present, DXKeeper
will use DefaultModes.txt

Thanks, Joe. I am confused about how DXK deals with modes.

FT4 and FT8 should be on the mode list for a contact, but they are not. If I import contacts (which I do) FT8 appears in the mode field, but it does not appear in the pulldown list.

I have a situation where I worked CE0Y on FT4. That should be equivalent to FT8 but
It isn't.

I don't know how to fix this.

+ What version of DXKeeper are you running?

+ In DXKeeper's Databases folder, what is the creation date associated with the file DefaultModes.txt ?

+ When you examine DefaultModes.txt using Windows Notepad, are there entries for FT4 and FT8?

+ I'm assuming based on your original report that no Modes.txt file is present in DXKeeper's Databases folder. If it were present, its contents would take precedence over those of DefaultModes.txt .

FT4 and FT8 are in the current DefaultModes.txt file. The quickest
way to fix that problem (unless Dave has a pointer to a stand alone
copy of that file) is to close DXKeeper, open DXLab Launcher's
Config screen and click "Restore" for DXKeepeer.

That will download and install the current public release (17.9.9)
which, I believe, contains the current DefaultModes.txt file.
