QRZ Wow wow wow INFLATION

QRZ prices are getting out of hand. No choice but to subscribe though. I remember it went from free to 15 to 25 and now 45+.?

?

XML is a requirement for reasonable usage of DXLABAS and I have to PRAISE Dave for this program. How he does a LOT more than QRZ and much better support is beyond my comprehension but THAKS DAVE.

I read your post about inflation. I have never subscribed to QRZ, so I had no idea it was that costly. I am curious though, you said "No choice but to subscribe though." Am I missing something by NOT subscribing?

Dxlab works just fine without having a qrz subscription.
There is also a xml subscription that you can get for less then what Gil said.

You can look up a very limited number of calls free but if you are keeping a computer log and want to get more than a few at any one time and other functions of the application interface then you must subscribe or you can get only a few at a time and I think deliberately is slower. They have a lot of nice things like your own page and such but it is getting pretty expensive, ever year it is ore. If I were back at 15 years old rather than 85 I probably? would consider a life subscription, as I luckily did to ARRL. What a bargain that turned out to be.

Maybe we will hook up some day o CW. If only I were a better typer I oud copy at 35WPM perhaps BUT I HAVE TO WATCJ TE KEYBOARD FOR TOUCJ TUPING. Probably need to? practice that .

Works fine but you miss a lot of worthy things on your QRZ page function and get a very limited number of lookups and they are slower. If you have a moderate size or larger log or want to log a lot of calls or a contest or other operation such as a pile of FT8 QSOes then the cheapest but unlimited XML is the way you have to go.

?

I think to get full usage of DXLabs and likely other logging software (YOU MEAN SUCH A THING EXISTS !!) you really need the XML functions.

?

You can get the XML Lookup service alone for $35.95 but the next level at $45.95 is worth the extra 10.

I think HamQTH can do all the same functions. And it's unlimited use is free.
But I am not sure if DXLabs can be set up to work with HamQTH.

Both DXLab Suite and JT Alert can be configured to use HamQTH.
However, I have found HamQTH much less complete and less

That has been my experience as well. Many ops don't maintain their HamQTH listing being unaware that an entry for their callsign existed.

If a user wishes to avail themselves of the automation of uploads to their QRZ logbook (eg. from DXLab or JTAlert) they must have an XML subscription.
