Xiegu G106/DE19 CAT connection

Hi to the group,

I am trying to configure this combo with Commander.
I use IC-7100, address 88, Com port 7, Baud rate 19200.
I have a Multi radio configuration with my IC-7300, which works flawlessly.

As soon as I switch Commander to the G106, the G106 transceiver goes in transmit mode. Frequency, mode and commands (A, B, A=B, AxB...) work perfectly, but the G106 is in TX in permanence, even if I click to the RX button on Commander.

Can somebody help me to solve this problem ?

Thanks and best regards,

Georges F6DFZ?

+ Due to insufficient documentation and Xiegu declining to provide a loander, Commander does not support the G106.

+ In the "Primary CAT Serial Port" panel on the Configuration window's Ports tab, set the DTR and RTS selectors to "off" (unless one of them is used to provide power to the interface between your computer and radio).

+ Make the same change in the G106's row in the "CAT Serial port" panel on the Configuration window's MultiRadio tab.

+ Great! Some questions:

1. on the Configuration window's General tab,

1a. what CI-V address have you specified in the Radio panel ?

1b. in the PTT panel, with the radio connected to an antenna on a clear amateur frequency, do the TX and RX buttons work?

2. on the Main window,

2a. which buttons in the Mode panel work correctly?

2b. in the Filters panel, do the Group, Width, PBT1, and PBT2 controls work correctly?

Hi Dave,

1a. what CI-V address have you specified in the Radio panel ?

IC-7100 and 88 hex address

1b. in the PTT panel, with the radio connected to an antenna on a clear amateur frequency, do the TX and RX buttons work?

Yes

?

2a. which buttons in the Mode panel work correctly?

LSB, USB, CW (normal), Data L (wide), AM (wide), Data U (wide). Other modes are not operative (and not present in the G106)

VFO A, VFO B, A=B, A x B, XFC, Split

TX, RX

Frequency control with the mouse, and 1, 2, 5 10 quick split

2b. in the Filters panel, do the Group, Width, PBT1, and PBT2 controls work correctly?

The Xiegu G106 is a minimalist QRP rig, and has only 3 CW filters (50, 250 and 500 Hz). The filter Group has no effect on them.
The G106 has only a standard SSB filter, and no PBT.

Other Xiegu, G90, X6100 and X 6200 have possibly more functions, but I don't possess them.

Best regards,

Georges F6DFZ
