Re: Dxlab and Multipsk
Wolfgang
Hi Graeme,
before you do so: here is my solution to this problem: 1st. Make a batch-file (e.g. "start.bat") and put this into the multipsk-directory. My content is: c: cd C:\programme\Multipsk start Multipsk.exe Be sure that in line 2 is YOUR directory of multipsk. (maybe you have to remove programme with "program files"...) 2nd. Now call this batch.file instead of multipsk.exe and you are done! Works here like a charm in WIN2000. Best wishes Wolfgang, DL7NB ...and better forget this Japanese "game", hi #> -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- #> Von: dxlab@... [mailto:dxlab@...] Im Auftrag von #> zl1gbb #> Gesendet: Montag, 3. Now I'll admit to being completely confused. If I click the Optimize
button, my RTTY Receive (Soundcard) and RTTY Transmit (Soundcard) frequencies match perfectly. However, if I st the cursor on a signal elsewhere on the waterfall, the two frequencies are completely different. The "Net" box is grayed out, so somewhere I've set something very wrong, but where? If there's a ~250 hz offset between your TX and RX frequencies, the
first thing I'd check the RIT and/or XIT setting. 73, Dave, AA6YQ --- In dxlab@..., "Dave" <dcorio@...> wrote: on the new PC after some hard work, but just noticed an issue with myhear me.I was dead-bang on his frequency. AFC: enable automatic frequency control in the JT65 decoding algorithm.

Auto: toggle on or off an automatic sequence of transmit and receive periods. Clear Avg: erase text in average message box, and clear message accumulator. Clip: normally set to zero. Increase its value to apply soft, moderate, or hard clipping to a signal before attempting to decode its message and to reduce the effects of static crashes, etc. Decode: analyze the most recently recorded or opened file, perhaps after one or more decoding parameters have been changed. Defaults: reset parameters S, Sync, Clip, and Tol to default values. Dsec: adjust UTC clock reading in ± 0.5 s increments to manually resynchronize with UTC or with your QSO partner's computer. (In general, it is best to keep the Windows clock set accurately and Dsec set to zero.) Erase: clear all information in main text boxes and graphical areas. Exclude: remove most recent recording from the average message accumulator. Use this option when you are sure that the program has synchronized incorrectly 26 Freeze: search only frequencies within ±Tol Hz of Freeze DF. Freeze DF can be adjusted by using the left/right keyboard arrows. In JT65 mode it can also be set by clicking on the red spike or on the SpecJT waterfall display. Sync: set synchronizing threshold (default = 1) for the JT65 decoder. 27 ________________________________ On 9/3/07, Andrew O'Brien <andrewobrie@...> wrote:

Re: script error on PathFinder
Interesting -- that's the Google advertising system. UrchinTracker is
their analytics package, which tells the advertisers how many many impressions (views) their have been, how many of those resulted in click-throughs to the advertisement, etc. I wonder if you and Danny N7DC have some sort of firewall or anti- malware software running that is preventing the ads from appearing or running correctly, thus generating the script error. For example, you might have some or all scripts disabled! 73, Dave, AA6YQ --- In dxlab@..., "Rick - WB5FDP" <wb5fdp@...> wrote: scripting operational, error? - ZAP function - Reduces effects from birdies but can sometimes cause a small loss in sensitivity - Normally set at zero - FREEZE filter - Used to filter out birdies and/or separate multiple stations - Filter width adjusted by changing the TOL setting - Increases JT65 sensitivity slightly - Must first make sure you know the frequency of the other station. If signal is strong enough, a spike will be shown at the frequency of the SYNC signal, shown on the RED JT65 line - Set FREEZE filter by moving mouse to peak on RED line (until the units values under the graph turn red), click on the spike, and then check the FREEZE box. FSK off frequency?
Dave
I'll try to explain this so it makes sense. Got DXLab running okay on
the new PC after some hard work, but just noticed an issue with my FSK keying. Went to answer a station calling CQ, and only got a single tone. The station heard me and mentioned the tone. I fixed that quickly, but then every time I answered his CQ, he couldn't hear me. It sounds to my tin ear like my tones are a bit higer than his, and I was dead-bang on his frequency. He wasn't working split, as the other stations I heard were also zero beat on him. If I had to guess, I'd say my tones sound about 250 Hz higher than his. What could I possible have wrong that could do that? The IC-746 isn't set on split, and was working fb on FSK before I changed computers, so my assumption is that it's a hardware problem - likely the nut holding the mouse!! Any ideas? Thanks es 73 Dave - KB3MOW |

I think the desire to access the computers remotely using different services is a reason not to do that. If you never want to get into your home network when you're away from home, then DHCP on your local network is fine. Another reason for manual addresses that I ran into a couple of years ago was when I was networking several computers for a multi-single contest effort using WriteLog. At the time, WriteLog had a nasty tendency to lose track of networked computers when using DHCP. However, more importantly I use aEven if your laptop was set up with a manual address on your home network (I should have mentioned that my laptop uses DHCP to get its address from the router; it's always with me so I'm never accessing it remotely...:-)), you could create a second network configuration in Windows which uses DHCP for use on the road. I should mention that when my laptop is connected to the home network (everything at home is connected via wireless), I do occasionally access it from the PC in the shack. Re: commander
There are two problems with the pathname
c:\programfiles\DXLab.suite\commander 1. a space is missing between the words "program" and "files" 2. Windows won't let you use a period in a folder name If you've successfully installed DXKeeper into c:\program files\DXLab suite\DXKeeper then you should use the following destination pathname for commmander: c:\program files\DXLab suite\commander 73, Dave, AA6YQ If the the space is missing, restore it and try again. 73, Dave, AA6YQ --- In dxlab@..., "Danny" <danandlol@...> wrote: doing allstep by step, and what it is that's going wrong.Hello Dave, ok this is what iam doing....
