Re: Dxlab and Multipsk

Wolfgang

Hi Graeme,

before you do so: here is my solution to this problem:
1st.
Make a batch-file (e.g. "start.bat") and put this into the
multipsk-directory. My content is:

c:
cd C:\programme\Multipsk
start Multipsk.exe

Be sure that in line 2 is YOUR directory of multipsk. (maybe you have to
remove programme with "program files"...)

2nd.
Now call this batch.file instead of multipsk.exe and you are done!

Works here like a charm in WIN2000.

Best wishes
Wolfgang, DL7NB

...and better forget this Japanese "game", hi

Re: FSK off frequency?

Dave

Now I'll admit to being completely confused. If I click the Optimize
button, my RTTY Receive (Soundcard) and RTTY Transmit (Soundcard)
frequencies match perfectly. However, if I st the cursor on a signal
elsewhere on the waterfall, the two frequencies are completely
different. The "Net" box is grayed out, so somewhere I've set
something very wrong, but where?

I have no firewall activated. I was running AVG anti-spyware which I placed
on this computer when I fired it up. Just took that down, and restarted the

any call lookup thru Pathfinder (with either IE or Firefox called up prior

Firefox, and still seeing same results - with no script alarm when I call up

Interesting -- that's the Google advertising system. UrchinTracker is
their analytics package, which tells the advertisers how many many
impressions (views) their have been, how many of those resulted in
click-throughs to the advertisement, etc.

I wonder if you and Danny N7DC have some sort of firewall or anti-
malware software running that is preventing the ads from appearing or
running correctly, thus generating the script error. For example, you
might have some or all scripts disabled!

Re: JT65a

Andrew O'Brien

AFC: enable automatic frequency control in the JT65 decoding algorithm.

Auto: toggle on or off an automatic sequence of transmit and receive periods.

Clear Avg: erase text in average message box, and clear message accumulator.

Clip: normally set to zero. Increase its value to apply soft,
moderate, or hard
clipping to a signal before attempting to decode its message and to reduce the
effects of static crashes, etc.

Decode: analyze the most recently recorded or opened file, perhaps
after one or
more decoding parameters have been changed.

Defaults: reset parameters S, Sync, Clip, and Tol to default values.

Dsec: adjust UTC clock reading in ± 0.5 s increments to manually
resynchronize
with UTC or with your QSO partner's computer. (In general, it is best
to keep the
Windows clock set accurately and Dsec set to zero.)
Erase: clear all information in main text boxes and graphical areas.
Exclude: remove most recent recording from the average message accumulator.
Use this option when you are sure that the program has synchronized
incorrectly
26

Freeze: search only frequencies within ±Tol Hz of Freeze DF. Freeze DF can be
adjusted by using the left/right keyboard arrows. In JT65 mode it can
also be set by
clicking on the red spike or on the SpecJT waterfall display.

Sync: set synchronizing threshold (default = 1) for the JT65 decoder.

Could be. It's not a problem, as I said. I just set the bookmark to use the IP address.

Note that if you have you Network set up to obtain it's IP addresses
automatically, as I do, the IP address of the computer where the
SpotCollector server is running could change without warning. If that
should happen the hard coded IP address you use would no longer be correct.
I have all of the machines on my home network set with manual IP addresses, because I have port forwarding set up in my router so I can access all of them from a remote location using various services, FTP, VNC, ASIP, etc. If I was using DHCP on the home network, an IP address change on one of the computers would mess that all up.

Why obtain IP addresses automatically? First, as long as your router
provide a DHCP service (if it doesn't it's not much of a router)
there is no reason not to do that.
I think the desire to access the computers remotely using different services is a reason not to do that. If you never want to get into your home network when you're away from home, then DHCP on your local network is fine.

Another reason for manual addresses that I ran into a couple of years ago was when I was networking several computers for a multi-single contest effort using WriteLog. At the time, WriteLog had a nasty tendency to lose track of networked computers when using DHCP.

However, more importantly I use a
laptop, occasionally travel to other locations and connect to other
networks ( for example, my stepdaughters house and motels, etc.). If
I am configured to use fixed IP addresses, this will not work and
cause considerable frustration getting set up at locations away from
home. With automatic IP configuration it's plug and play no matter where I go.
Even if your laptop was set up with a manual address on your home network (I should have mentioned that my laptop uses DHCP to get its address from the router; it's always with me so I'm never accessing it remotely...:-)), you could create a second network configuration in Windows which uses DHCP for use on the road.

I should mention that when my laptop is connected to the home network (everything at home is connected via wireless), I do occasionally access it from the PC in the shack. When that happens, I access it by name.

There are two problems with the pathname

c:\programfiles\DXLab.suite\commander

1. a space is missing between the words "program" and "files"

2. Windows won't let you use a period in a folder name

If you've successfully installed DXKeeper into
