Re: Spot Analysis

+ AA6YQ comments below
The spot analysis is a valuable feature and save a lot of time. As I understand it, it will show all spots within each hour on each band from sources within a set distance form my QTH. Is there a way to do this for only a particular call? If so, I haven't successfully done it. If I set SC to filter on a given call, I see only in the SC window. But I can't seem to get an *analysis* for that specific call. What am I missing?
+ If by "spot analysis" you're referring to SpotCollector, then "show all spots within each hour on each band from sources within a set distance form my QTH" is incorrect because there is no concept of "within each hour". As documented,?

"SpotCollector inspects each incoming spot of a station operating in a particular mode near a particular frequency, discards it if is?, and otherwise uses the information from the spot to either update an existing Spot Database Entry for that station in that mode near that frequency, or to create a new Spot Database Entry. SpotCollector's??mechanism lets you focus on a specified subset of the information contained in the Spot Database, like "all active CW stations on the transceiver's current band with whom a confirmed QSO would advance award progress". Filtering does not modify the content of the Spot Database; it modifies only your?view?of that data - a view you can quickly change to meet your need for information."

+ SpotCollector provides built-in filtering that you can configure (e.g. by callsign, by entity, by band, by mode, by origin) as well as SQL access to every Spot Database Field:

+ one of which is the distance between your QTH and the closest station that has contributed a spot to each Spot Database Entry.

+ For DXers, the collection of spots and WSJT-X decodings into a a database from which multiple views can be simultaneously generated provide DXLab's most powerful capabilities, but also its most complexity.

+ and then post any remaining questions here.

+ You might also find this presentation

+ from my video with Bill AJ8B helpful.

The report is just for fun. The suggestions you and Joe made will give a suitable approximation.
+ If you've configured DXKeeper to upload your QSOs to Club Log, the clicking the "Timeline" button in the "Your Log" section on the right provides some nice tabular and graphical analyses of your QSOs.

+ When you run MMTTY standalone by starting the instance of MMTTY.exe in your WinWarbler folder, do you notice a difference in the "diddle rate"?
# Your answer "yes" means there's a difference in the MMTTY.ini file in your WinWarbler folder and the MMTTY.ini file in the folder containing the MMTTY.exe you use when running MMTTY standalone.
?
# I use the free ExamDiff application to compare text files and report differences:

When upgrading to Windows 11 a clean install had to be done and now I am reinstalling my software apps. In setting up WinWarbler the transmit idle or diddle isn't what it typically is - it seems too fast. The install is WinWarbler with MMTTY setup for FSK using Micro Ham Keyer III and FTDX-101D following setup given by Micro Ham. When using MMTTY alone the diddle sounds as it should but when I use it with WinWarbler is when it seems to be somewhat off. It is probably something right in front of me, I am vision impaired and probably missing it. Does ayone have any ideas

Waterafall and SpotCollector Spots and JTALert

I have JTAlert set up to send spots to SpotCollector. ?I have SpotCollector set up to send me email alerts when a needed call is spotted. ?
?
I use the DXCommander waterfall. ?Since JTAlert alerts me of needed calls both in a JTAlert window and via email I don't need the spots to appear on the waterfall. ?I really want to see just the FT* spots not originated by me. ?Maybe there is a DX station working on a different frequency on the band I'm working or a station is copying a needed call that I am not yet copying. Of course spots for other modes are needed so that I can change modes if needed.
?
?I don't want to turn off the JTAlerts going to SpotCollector because of the email alerts.
?
Sometimes I would like to show less that 4 lines of spots on the waterfall. ?I often find I'm not getting many needed spots so there is a lot of space that could be saved by shrinking the callsign window.

Re: History report?

+?
Is there a way to generate from DXLabs (thru scripts of course) a report that would list which QSL resulted in a DXCC increment and/or Challenge increment that could be sorted by date?
+ An increment to a DXCC family award occurs when DXCC award family credit is granted in response to an application you submitted. DXKeeper can download DXCC credits granted by the ARRL, but the information available does not include the date on which each DXCC credit was granted. Thus it is not possible to construct a chronological report showing when each entity, entity-band, or entity-mode received DXCC award credit.

+ For QSOs confirmed via QSL card - if the QSL_Rcvd item is one of Y, S, or V, you can sort by the QSLRdate item to see the order in which those confirmations were made, but this won't identify which QSOs received DXCC award credit in which order.

+ Similarly, for QSOs confirmed via QSL LoTW - if the LoTW_QSL_Rcvd item is one of Y, S, or V, you can sort by the LoTW_QSLRdate item to see the order in which those confirmations were made.

+ Why are you seeking this report?

? ? ?73,

Re: History report?

As a starting point:

QSL_Rcvd = 'V' or App_DXKeeper_LotW_QSL_Rcvd = 'V'

Then in Advanced Sorts set one of the sorts to:

App_DXKeeper_LotW_QSLRDATE

and select Sort = User on the Log QSOs page.

I suppose "V" status would be a decent starting point but where from there?
Thanks

Re: DXlab and JTAlert on occasion not working

The most likely explanation is that Windows is inappropriately
powering down your sound card (or another sound card in your
system which causes sound cards to be "renumbered").

What kind of sound card to you have and do you have an HDMI
monitor?

+ JTAlert doesn't perform any decoding of K1JT-modes; WSJT-X does that. If WSJT-X stops decoding after 8-10 QSOs, neither Laurie VK3AMA nor I can help you with that; engage with the WSJT-X support team.
