Re: Problem creating DXKeeper User Field
Thanks, Dave.
Actually, I have been able to restore my prior workspace from where it was saved to an external drive. When it came back, everything looked OK EXCEPT that the DXKeeper user fields came back with captions but no drop down lists, so I'm still at a loss as to how to re-create the lists. Interestingly, the user defined buttons in Commander came back just fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Updating Logged QSOs to Reflect Status Downloaded from IOTA
I successfully entered my call for the activations, now I have just one little glitch. I set up a filter for the 6m band, and when using the filter, the IOTA Progress button shows all my VHF IOTA confirmations quite accurately. I guess I also need to set up a filter to disregard 6m contacts to run the Progress report for HF IOTAs? When I run the IOTA Progress for HF without a filter, the program inserts four 6m verified contacts, three in place of the correct HF verified QSOs, and one for an IOTA I¡¯ve verified on 6m, but not on HF.

and as stated in the description of the WAB Progress Report in WAB squares should be recorded in each QSO's Region item: You recorded WAB squares in a user-defined item. The procedure I posted for you back in July copies copies the WAB squares you logged in each QSO's user-defined item to its Region item so that the WAB progress report will work correctly. You need only execute this procedure once: 1. review the "WAB Square" format to be sure that what your recorded in the user-defined item your created complies with that format 2. filter the Log Page Display to contain all QSOs that contain a "WAB Square" in your user-defined item; you didn't say which user-defined item you're using to record WAB squares, so I can't give you the exact SQL expression with which to filter the Log Page Display. It will look like LEN(App_DXKeeper_User_Defined_X)>0 where X is the number of the user-defined item you used. 3. review those QSOs to make certain that all are in Britain 4. make a backup copy of your log This is a step that is always taken before using the "Modify QSOs" panel to modify many QSOs. On the Configuration window's Log tab, click the "Backup Folder" panel's Backup button 5. use the "Advanced Sorts, Filters, and Modifiers" window's "Modify QSOs" panel to copy the contents of your user-defined item to the Region item APP_DXKEEPER_REGION in each QSO in the Log Page Display: 5a. set the "Item Name" selector to APP_DXKEEPER_REGION 5b. set the "Item new value" to < App_DXKeeper_User_Defined_X> where X is the number of the user-defined item you used (same as in step 2 above) 5c. click the Mod button 6. check your results in the Log Page Display to make sure you are happy with them 7. click the WAB button "Other progress reports" panel on the Main window's "Check Progress" tab. 73, Dave, AA6YQ I received your instructions to create a WAB report 22/07/2024. With a hughe delay, i started today with this operation, after a fresh startup of the PC. But there are questions, because i'm affrayed to mash-up things. (Not an IT'er !) I regret it. In step 2 i filtered and noticed 1342 items containing a WAB square in Britain. Then in step 4 i should make a backup copy of my log. Knowing that a backup is created every time i close down, is it still needed at that moment? Most recent backup created yesterday at close-down of the station. If really necessary, how do i make the copy while all the usual screens are opened? In step 5, if i understand well, do i have to copy every singel QSO one by one? 1342 willtake time! Prefix Change, special event.
3 Times per year we have the opportunity to use the AX prefix. I did it once before and the headaches it created with respect to logging and reporting drove me bananas. There must be an easier way that I am missing. If I make a new log, will that save all the QSL config data, I.E. will my TQSL data, eQSL.CC, QRZ, etc? for AX5OM be saved within that log file? Hence, on the day, I just select the AX5OM log file from QSL Config Log Tab? |

The manual that came with the X6200 from Radioddity also has the CI-V commands for the X6200 (mostly that same as X6100). I can scan and send them if it's legaly.+ Without access to a loaner, the most I will do is recommend an Icom model that you can try selecting. CIV commands reference for Xiegu transceivers. + Thanks. That document applies to the Xiegu G90, G106, and X6100 - but not the the X6200.
+ Georges F6DFZ reports success having Commander control a Xiegu G106 by setting the "Radio Model" to IC-7100 and specifying a CI-V address of 88; the details are here: ?

For the?Xiegu X6200 I would try the IC-7300 driver with CI-V address 0x70.? Bj?rn SM7IUN? On Thu, Jan 23, 2025 at 7:12?AM Dave AA6YQ via <aa6yq=[email protected]> wrote: + AA6YQ comments below |
Re: Xiegu in commander

Is it possible to add Xiegu X6200 and other Xiegu transceivers to commander? + Support for the Xiegu X6200 is unlikely: 1. The User Manual for the Xiegu X6200 does not specify its "computer communications" instruction set. 2. Radioddity, the supplier, has in the past declined to provide loaner Xiegu radios. 3. Interest level has been extremely low: you are the first to ask. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

After a catastrophic computer failure, I'm now reconstructing DXLab after reinstalling Win 11. Prior to the crash, I had two user fields with drop down choices in DXKeeper. I'm trying to re-create them and can't seem to get them to work. I created a list for each one and saved them in Notepad txt files. I then went to User Items in the DXK config window and clicked on the Set List button with Style set to List. The expected window opened and I saw my text files. When I opened them and clicked on the Load button, I expected to see the drop downs in each field in the log window, but both fields remained blank. I must have done (or not done) something, but I don't see what went wrong. Can someone help? + I assume that you don't have a Workspace containing your settings. Please review + Following its advice will significantly speed your next recovery. + Your assumption that the file format for user item definitions is a simple list is not correct. DXKeeper enables you to save your user item definitions to a file so that you can maintain multiple sets of such definitions, and quickly switch among them by loading one of the files you saved. It is not intended to enable you to create such definitions with a text editor, which is why the file format is not documented in + You must specify your user item definitions using the textboxes, selectors, and checkboxes on the Configuration window's "User Items" tab. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |
