Re: Spectrum Waterfall

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

The only COM port that matters is the virtual COM port that is created when you connect your computer to your 7300.

?

If Commander is able to control your 7300¡¯s frequency and mode, then it is connected to the correct virtual COM port.

Dave,

Sorry about that. I had changed the settings back where everything works except the Spectrum Waterfall.

I have two comports #6 @ 19200 radio cable and #7 @ 115200 comport that was downloaded from Icom.

How do you want me to set these two comports up?

Re: Strange green check marks ...

+ AA6YQ comments below

Does DXKeeper use the data from for anything? That data seems like it has all the manually-processed QSL cards, not LoTW in it.

+ No, because for a QSO confirmed by both QSL card and LoTW, it provides no way of distinguishing between "credit granted to QSL card confirmation" and "credit granted to LoTW confirmation", preventing DXKeeper from accurately setting "QSL Rcvd" or "LoTW QSL Rcvd" to 'V'. If this API had been available when I first implemented DXKeeper's "DXCC Credit Manager", I'd have used it instead of implementing the "download the Award Credit Matrix HTML and scrape information from it". But given that the existing DXCC Credit Manager implementation is more functional, there's no compelling reason to re-implement it around a mechanism that will reduce available functionality.

Bill,

1:?? You can log to DXKeeper, and it will log to the HRDlog.net since its an online logbook
2.?? It will log to QRZ .. you need to be a paid subscriber to QRZ and have a API Key
3.? JT-Alert will log to those (DXKeeper & QRZ) at the same time, along with eQSL, HamQTH,? and Clublog.?? I, myself, have contacts loged to QRZ by JT-Alert, and the eQSL and Clublog by DXKeeper.

Hope this helps.

1. Wrong. JTAlert can log to DXKeeper and HRDLog.net simultaneously as well as several other online logs (but not LoTW).
2. Wrong. JTAlert can upload QSOs to QRZ.com

BTW it is JTAlert not JT-Alert with a hyphen. If your seeing "JT-Alert" on a webpage it likely contains out-of-date information as it has not used the hyphen in the name for a number of years.

I am using Windows 10, IC-7300 and DXLab.
Also using two cables connected to the IC-7300.
1. USB RTS01 Radio Cable Com 6 19200 (My primary Cat Port.)
2. Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge Com 7 115200. (USB cable)

Now I want to add the Spectrum Waterfall to the mix.
My primary Cat serial port is com6 19200.
I am thinking that the com 7 115200 should be my primary cat serial port.

I am lost on how to make this work.

I'm just wondering why there would be a difference between the Capture window and the PathFinder window in the SP Heading? Don't they use the same source?

+ Pathfinder does not compute headings. Pathfinder displays web pages (like QRZ.com) that can compute headings.

Re: Short Path Heading

+ AA6YQ comments below

Think I understand it now - In DXV the box under the SP Heading is the heading of the last heading. As soon as I click on the SP Heading box to turn my rotor, then they agree and it resets the Capture az - path box to the Short Path instead of the last heading. This Last Heading info had me confused.

+ Yes, it's the last heading sent to your rotator that is logged with your QSO (unless you check the "Report computed short path heading when disabled or on unsupported band" box at the top of DXView's Configuration window's "Rotator Control" tab. DXKeeper also logs the "antenna path" item based on whether you last turned your rotator by clicking the SP or LP button.
