Single-column labels?
My current QSL cards have enough space that a 5 1/2 inch (width) label will fit, so I ordered labels of that size. At that size on 8/2 x 11 pages, you essentially have 1-column labels. Having not tried to use labels before, I didn't realize that the QSL page will handle 2-column or 3-column, but not 1-column labels. Suggestions on how to handle this?

Re: Electronic QSL

I have also gotten many of these. Some are nice cards, other's very generic with a "typewriter" font that's hard to read. I should just dump them but I have been answering since old habits die hard. I also send to eQSL, LOTW and CLublog automatically when the QSO is terminated. I made up a card with Paint Shop Pro (any paint/art program will work) with everything, address, grid square, county etc but the QSO info. When I get a card, I look in DXK for the particular entry and highlight it and copy to clipboard in the popup. This goes to wordpad which I copy and in Paint Shop Pro, add it to the card I made which now has the needed info added in text. Save it and send it off. Odd that when I copy to clipboard, I do not get all the info...i.e. the signal report is missing although it is in the log entry and was highlighted and maybe copied. No big deal...I just add the sig report. Is there a limit to what can be copied to the clipboard in DXK? + Rather than generate a QSL card image populated with QSO information and place it in the Windows Clipboard, perhaps a new "Generate text QSL" right-mouse menu command could be an augmented version of the current "Copy to Windows Clipboard" command that include signal reports and the "QSL Message" item (if logged). This could be generated in multi-line format, e.g. Callsign: ZS8W Frequency: 14.087 Mode: FT8 Date: 2025-04-28 Time: 07:58:45Z Notes: Tnx QSL! 73 de AA6YQ + and quickly pasted into a return email message. +Comments, suggestions, better ideas? 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

I've been playing with SpotCollector's Web Server, which I had working before I got my current home router, a TP-Link. I see the spots both on my computer and phone, but the font is in red on a black background when I select the Need button. When clicking on the X, I'm assuming the font is in black but the background is still black, so I see only a black display in the window. + SpotCollector's built-in web server uses the Font and Background colors specified on the left side of the "Spot Database Display" tab of its Configuration window. Direct your web browser to refresh after making a change in these settings. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

yes its checked + If that's the case, then those 5 QSOs that were imported weren't identical to QSOs already present in your log. + Pick one of them, and compare it to the logged QSO. If you don't see the difference, please export the logged QSO to an ADIF file, and attach that file and the ADIF file from WSJT-X that you imported to an email message, and send the message to me via aa6yq (at) ambersoft.com 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

There is no Errorlog.txt anywhere in the DXLab folder. I can¡¯t see how to create one, so assume it shows up when an error occurs. + Correct. I¡¯ve also rebooted the computer. There are 0 Spot Database Entries, with 35200 deleted database entries (I deleted them as I thought the database was full). My spots per minute is currently running at 248.4. I¡¯m on default port 52000. + So that I can see what's going, please do the following: 1. on SpotCollector's Configuration window's General tab, check the "Log debugging info" box 2. terminate SpotCollector 3. start SpotCollector 4. wait 15 minutes 5. on SpotCollector's Configuration window's General tab, uncheck the "Log debugging info" box 6. attach the errorlog.txt file from your SpotCollector folder to an email message, and send the message to me via aa6yq (at) ambersoft.com 73, Dave, AA6YQ |
Re: DXKeeper Port 52001 In Use
+ AA6YQ comments below
This error just came up when starting DXK. Something must of changed but don't know what. Under Network Service I changed the Base Port to 52005 and that error went away. Any thoughts? + Applications grab ports on a first-come, first-served basis. Evidently, you started an application that grabbed 52001 before DXKeeper could do so. Changing the base port is fine if you aren't running an application liked JTAlert that sends messages to DXKeeper, in which case you'd have to reconfigure that application to use the new port. + The easier "solution" is to start all of your DXLab applications immediately after booting Windows, so that they can each grab their default port. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

Is there a way to enlargen size the font size (or use bold font) in the antenna presets buttons on DX View? + There is no font size control specific to DXView's antenna presets buttons. You can configure Windows to "make everything bigger": 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

Ah, I found the 'Permit uploading of QSOs already uploaded to LOTW' checkbox. Also noticed that once you do an upload with this checked, it apparently automatically resets the checkbox after the upload is completed. + Yes, that's intentional. The "Permit uploading of QSOs already uploaded to LOTW" option is provided only for unusual circumstances - like yours! 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

Re: Error When I Run ReCompute in DXKeeper
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks for the responses.? I discovered that this was during the 100th Anniversary for ARRL and they were running portable to each state so that people could get a special WAS by working W1AW in all the states.? After I posted the message below I found was K7RL hosted the station in Washington state and discovered that he lives in Island County.? Re: Error When I Run ReCompute in DXKeeper
WA is not a valid ARRL section; Washington state is divided into two ARRL sections (EWA and WWA). Okanogan county is in EWA, so changing the ARRL Section for that QSO from WA to EWA will fix the error.
