Spotcollector behavior

Has anyone else had my recent experience with multiple "spots" from a single callsign showing up in Spotcollector at the same time. In one instance a Polish station nearly filled the entire Spotcollector screen? This just happened again with two or three callsigns showing up, filling the page.
I do not think it is a Spotcollector issue per se but likely something from each of the Networks. Weird behavior, never experienced it before.

When I go into Commander configuration, the selection for Spectrum-Waterfall is grayed out.

+ Thanks.

+ During normal operation, Commander does not disable the entire Spectrum-Waterfall.

+ Is there an errorlog.txt file in your Commander folder? If so, please attach it to an email message, and send the message to me via

+ If not, please make a screen shot of the Spectrum-Waterfall window, attach it to an email message, and send the message to me via

Re: spotcollect vs dxview grid for vk9xu

+ AA6YQ comments below
not sure why but if I type in vk9xu in to DXview it shows their grid as OH29 (heading of 334 degrees)
BUT
if I click on vk9xu in spotcollector it shows their grid as OC00 (heading of 185 degrees)
?
+ In the General panel on the General tab of SpotCollector's Configuration window, is the "Capture location info from notes" option enabled? If so, SpotCollector will give credence to any grid squares appearing in spot notes.

Where are you seeing OC00 in SpotCollector? I see DXGrid of OH29
which matches DXView (OH29mm) as well as the VK9XU entry on QRZ.com
(OH29tm).

any ideas?
The large difference in heading is because VK9X is very close to
the antipode for you and headings flop very wildly from E/W and
N/S around the antipode.

Re: Bad spotter

Would there be any chance to add that functionality to the right click menu from the SC display?

+ Adding a callsign to the Special Callsign List with a BadSource tag is an infrequent operation, and thus doesn't merit a place on the Spot Database Display's right-mouse menu.

any problems with the gateway mine seems broken since last N1MM update
the N1MM Logger.ini External Broadcast items seems ok?
?
+ The N1MM-DXKeeper Gateway depends only on a message protocol documented on the N1MM web page. There's been no mention of it changing; yours is the only report of a problem, though "seems broken" is not specific enough to motivate action.

I didn't know that capability existed.?
+ After you've been using DXLab for awhile and are comfortable with the functionality you're using, considering scanning the Reference Documentation again. You may find functionality that you ignored on your initial scan that you'll now recognize as useful.

Re: Backup Request Enhancement

You could always add a "Don't show this again" box to the prompts.

Re: Bad spotter

The actions on the right click menu all apply to the *spotted station*
not the *spotting station*. Adding functions that relate to more than
one station/callsign might get a bit confusing.

Re: Rec'd QSL Card, Now What?

Did I manage to somehow lock the form so I can't do anything ham fisted and mess up my log?
In Config -> General -> Main "Log QSOs options" ...
is "Require Edit to modify logged QSOs" checked?
That is the new install default?

If so, on the Log QSOs tab, click the "Edit" button (second from left
just above the log grid) before you try to modify the QSO.

BTW, when receiving a QSL, it is easier to simply click Edit then the
CFM button (beside the QSL Sent box) than manually setting RCVD=Y and
entering the date.

Nothing.? Nada.? Minor disappointment.
I look to the right and see "date rcvd" and a field.? I start pushing in numbers for today's date.? I'm sure my numlk is on.? Again, nothin'.
