After filtering? LEN(App_DXKeeper_User_Defined_6)>4 i did find one eroneous notification in the WAB Column of my Log.

(4 Characters plus spacings, so more than 4.

After correction of the Column, WAB column seemed empty as expected.

Again filtering the LEN(App_User_Defined_6)>0 showed the 1341 QSO's with a 4 Character notification of WAB.

Trying to modify as proposed, again the message: < App_DXKeeper_User_Defined_6 >is too large for

< App_DXKeeper_Region > wich is 8 . came up.

I've done that but after transmitting one time it changes to USB. Commander shows USB, WSJT-X shows Data/Pkt. Changing between USB and Data/Pkt in WSJT-X makes no change on the K2. I can change the mode via Commander, but again after transmitting, it changes back to USB.

1. on the General tab of Commander's Configuration window, check the "Log debugging info" box

2. terminate Commander

3. start Commander

4. configure WSJT-x to use Commander for rig control with the mode set to Data/Pkt

5. wait 10 seconds

6. on a clear frequency with minimum power, direct WSJT-X to transmit

7. confirm that the mode changes to USB

8. on the General tab of Commander's Configuration window, uncheck the "Log debugging info" box

9. attach the errorlog.txt file from your Commander folder to an email message, and send the message to me via

Would it be possible to add a S-Meter log to Commander? E.g. to store the received S-values for a particular QSO or RX session.

+ S-meter readings vary as a function of transmitted signal amplitude, signal loss during propagation, and receiver filtering. Commander does not sample your transceiver's S-meter at regular intervals, and couldn't if it wanted to because Windows is not a realtime operating system.

The next problem is rig mode. Using WSJT-X alone, the Mode was set to Data/Pkt and the K2 went into the RTTY-R data mode which works great. After combining with DXLab, the rig Mode switches to USB. I switch it back in Commander, but as soon as the K2 transmits, the mode is returned to USB.

+ On the Radio tab of WSJT-X's Setting window, set the Mode to "Data/Pkt".

Hey folks...
I was having the same problem as in this thread:

I have been using WSJT-X with the K2 without DXLab for some time - no issue.? After configuring WSJT-X to have DXLab control the rig (log contacts etc.), I had the same weird PTT issue as reported in the above thread.? I fixed it by changing the PTT method to RTS with a com port (I'm using the Timewave Navigator as the interface so I can have 2 com ports for the rig: one for CAT and one for PTT).? That fixed the quick PTT problem.

Interesting but I think many or even most event information is far beyond the knowledge of 99.99% of users.
+ The only alternative is to find system diagnostics, run them, and hope they find something.
Easy to use though and if an application is failing the data may be very useful to the developer. For DXLABS ?the error logging is likely to be far more helpful most of the time.
+ Not when the host system is failing. DXLab applications cannot cause a Windows system to crash unless that Windows system is itself broken.
?
+ I've been looking for a better alternative to the Windows Event Log Viewer - something that will provide an actual diagnosis. If anyone knows of such an application, please post it here.

I don't understand D3 or 59.? I know PC is the power control command.? What are the other values?
+ <D3> means "3 decimal digits with leading zeroes".

+ <59> means "insert a semicolon".

+ They enable the slider to "assemble" a command that controls your transceiver's RF power output.

Every time I start up DXView now I get the following error message:

Sometimes, the map (w/DXAtlas) will open, but the DXView info window won't, until I click on the flashing error message icon at the bottom of the screen.? After that, it seems to run okay.??

But I have other issues with the computer/Windows, too.? After allowing a Windows update last night, I came in to find the blue screen with "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart" message, showing a "Stop code" of System Thread exception Not Handled."

It's a relatively new Dell I9 with lots of Ram, plenty of storage, but it occasionally just crashes unexpectedly, when all I'm running is DXLab

any recommendations?

+ Check the Windows Event Logs to identify the root cause of your system's malfunctioning, and then correct that. Chasing application errors on a broken system is a waste of time.

I don't understand D3 or 59.

<D3> is the UDC way of saying output a three digit decimal number
(value of the command).

<59> says send the ASCII character represented by decimal 59
(the semicolon).

Both are explained in the help files on User Defined Commands.

I get a message "Commander will Terminate" and it does.
What is the error message before "Commander will Terminate"?

Is the K3 Utility running when you get "Commander will Terminate"?
If so, stop it - only one application can communicate with the K3
at a time.

Is there an "errorlog.txt" file in in the Commander directory?
If so, send it direct to AA6YQ as documented in:

+ Is this a new installation of Commander? The "Commander will Terminate" message means that Commander was unable to install a component on which it relies; this? cryptic error message is improved in the next version. To enable Commander to install the component,

1. terminate Commander

2. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to your Commander folder

3. Right-click the entry for

CI-V Commander.exe

and then select "Run as administrator" from the pop-up menu. Commander should start without complaint.?

4. Terminate Commander
