Network Local Spots Overwhelming N6WS

Forest for the Trees Problem

I'm using WSJT-X . I do not want it's decoded stations as spot sources for the Spot Collector Display.
I only want to see spots sourced from N6WS

I have gone into :
SpotCollector Configuration and Unchecked:WSJT-X Enable.

SpotCollector Tabular Display continues to be saturated with Spots from my WSJT-X Decodes. (and the N6WS spots get lost in the ridiculous volume of my own decodes.

I want HamApps to to my Alerting, so I can't turn off the UDP connection.

2nd Problem:

If I use VP8PJ as the Callsign Filter, even though I have set Origin Filter to NA-E, M and W, I still see spots? sourced from all over the world, which are not of any interest to me.

The goal here is to see spots of VP8PJ that only originated in North America

I"ve used search and read what I can, but I cannot find the obvious. It seems to me that NOT enabled WSJT-X in the SpotCollector config should do it, but it doesn't. Maybe I have to close SpotCollector and restart it?

Thanks In Advance

Simply amazing! I've never done that before--never had to.
I went through the whole updating and syncing process and there it was.
About 99.9% of the new QSOs were LOTW users and all in yellow.

+ Had you enabled the "Update LoTW Membership" option on the "Import QSOs" tab before clicking the Start button, your imported QSOs would be been updated to reflect LotW participation.

My DXKeeper log has thousands of QSOs and of those QSOs the LOTW users are colored yellow.
I have recently imported my FT8 QSOs into DXKeeper and not a single one of hundreds of FT8 QSOs are colored any color. It seems like they are ignored by DXKeeper. I can't believe that none of them are not LOTW users.
Any ideas?

+ Before you clicked the Start button on DXKeeper's Main window's "Import QSOs" tab, did you enable the "Update LoTW membership" option in the upper-left corner of that tab?

Gary

I found an easy fix by accident.? Open DXView.? Co to Config > Exception List.? Click Clublog button.? That populates your list with Clublog exceptions.? There is also a BigCty button.? Take your choice and you are done.

Re: DXKeeper problem

Have you synchronized with LoTW since the importing of the FT8 records.? I find that about 70% of FT8 users use LoTW.

Re: Pre-filtering

Good stuff Dave!. I will be able to remove some of my rather convoluted sql queries. Would there be (maybe some time in the future) a front panel indicator for what's being blocked?

+ I have further updated the next version of SpotCollector to make it easier to determine if pre-filtering is enabled with at least one band, mode family, or origin box checked in the new Pre-filtering window; if so,

- the "Spot source" panel at the top of the SpotCollector's Main window appends the word "pre-filtered"

- the "Pre-filter" button in the lower-right corner of the Configuration window's "Spot Database" tab displays the word "Enabled" beneath it (in blue font)

- the new "Pre-filter" button in the lower-right corner of the Configuration window's "Spot Sources" tab displays the word "Enabled" beneath it (in blue font)

- depressing the CTRL key while double-clicking the words "Spot source status" in the "Spot source" panel at the top of the SpotCollector's Main window displays SpotCollector's Pre-filtering window.

Thus the status of pre-filtering -- enabled or not -- is visible from SpotCollector's Main window and from two relevant tabs of its Configuration window, and the detailed "what spots are being ignored" status shown in the Pre-filtering window can be displayed with a single gesture from any of those three locations.

+ I didn't publicly announce the availability of SpotCollector 8.5.2 - I sent email to the several ops who encouraged me to provide a pre-filtering capability that explains how to obtain this version, and then posted a screenshot here so that anyone interested could comment. This has been standard practice for the past 19 years. I'm not trying to exclude anyone, but it's unwieldy to have more than 3 or 4 people test a new version, the people who suggest an enhancement are generally willing to critique and test it, and the time to a public release is typically not more than a few days.

Rick,

I believe the latest released version of SpotCollector *is* v8.5.0, there is a pre-release version undergoing testing by interested parties.

So which continent do we use?

The IOTA web site say's AN-008 is Antarctica.

ANTARCTICA

SOUTH ORKNEY ISLANDS AN-008
Various a. SOUTH ORKNEY ISLANDS (=South Orkney Isls [namely Coronation, Inaccessible Isls, Lars en Isls, Laurie [Orcadas Base LU*Z], Powell, Si gny [Signy Base VP8]])

+ That depends on whether you're pursuing the ARRL's "Worked All Continents" award, or IOTA's Antarctica and South America awards.

Could ARRL have it wrong? or not made an update since 1962?

When setting my override it did populate it with SA, but i have since changed it to AN
