Step-by-step instructions for uploading QSOs to Club Log are here:

<http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/ClubLogUpload>

The next version of DXKeeper supports "Inbound OQRS". These two "Getting Started" articles have already been updated to reflect this capability, though it's not supported by the current public release of DXKeeper:

DX Lab and Open Indiana Unix compatibility?

GE all,

I am considering running DX Lab on a computer running Open Indiana (Unix).

I would like to hear from anyone who has tried this and any constructive information available.?

In particular I would like to hear comments from Dave as he knows the DX Lab suit of programs best.?

Thanks for any information?

Re: Capture

An updated subdivision database would not be helpful.

What would be helpful is a comprehensive, accurate list of changes to be made.

Understand all points.

it needs time to implement changes, and the automation could be tricky

The RDA "board" is taking care of "incorrect" application, so when a deleted (or incorrect) RDA is in the application list, they will alert "after manual check" the applier, and ask to correct incorrect datas...

So do we need automation to make changes ? May be not

Suggestions :

- only take care of latest list (may be removing from the list RDA concerned by some "political decision") and them let RDA hunters to make changes manually using submission sheet...

- additionnaly : mark deleted/merged/.. RDA as "deleted" which permits any one to know that they have to search for RDA cross-references list...

1 Year ago I asked some RDA expert on RDA Group, but unable to get any info/feedback...

I modified the mdb file my self to include changes... I can do it again, I just need to find few hours to do it...

Thanks Dave. No big hurry for any changes here. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing an already available option that would do what I was looking for.

I can't find any way to stop displaying the PSK columns & rows in
Realtime Awards Tracking, DXView, and DXCC Progress reports. In the
DXKeeper configuration, Awards tab, DXCC Bands & Modes panel, I have
unchecked the PSK box, but the unwanted columns & rows are still
displayed. I do pursue Digital awards, but have no need to see PSK

From what I could see the complete list is here < http://rdaward.org/rda_eng.txt >, last updated on 01/02/2016, if I'm seeing this correct, on the first lines, the AB-xx are replace with ZK-xx, so if one has one QSO with AB-01 with should count as ZK-37, and AB-xx should be deleted from the list.

The RDA are very confusing with many changes.

>>>Exactly. Even with automation, changes of this magnitude are demotivating to those pursuing RDA awards.
=== Every time we look at RDA there is a new one or deleted, or group, like you said very demotivating for someone to chase this award, and also to the logging application try to maintain an accurate database.

When I activate Spot Collector from Launcher I get two or three error messages in a row (one right after another) indicating things like "..path not found", ...path doesn't exist" etc then a message regarding database not containing band or mode but if I keep deleting these messages Spot Collector opens and functions normally except "?" show in the band field and mode field is blank.

From your description, it sounds like the pathname specified in the "Sub-band Definition" panel near the bottom of the Configuration window's General tab does not reference a file that describes each sub-band and the mode typically used within that sub-band.
There should be a file named BandModes.txt in your SpotCollector folder. The "Sub-band Definition" panel should reference this file.
If the above doesn't get you going, then please attach the errorlog.txt file from your SpotCollector folder to an email message, and send it to me via

Simple, if you need both, use DXKeeper's main window.

Capture is already too large - particularly with the "contest mode"
entry data on the tenth line and four lines of "User Defined" fields.

Capture already consumes as much vertical space as DXKeeper's main window when none of the optional panels are displayed.

Only if you fully expand the Capture window in its vertical dimension.

Today I ran DXCC Credit Download for the first time. When the process completed I found that there had been one error. Checking the
list I found this error message about ? of the way down the list.

Error: unable to obtain details for DXCC credit# 648478261C: connection timeout

I¡¯m wondering how the process could have timed out and still finished ? of the process.

Each DXCC Credit is individually downloaded. Only the download of DXCC credit# 648478261C timed out.
I guess I should run the scan again?

I suggest that you complete the linking process with the DXCC Credits you have downloaded. When that's complete, repeat the
Download and Analyze steps; there should then be one more credit to link.

They are, Joe, but they are different. I just don't have a cross-reference in my head for prefix and name. Having to select one in one place and the other in another is confusing.

I am sensitive to this because in my work we provide a parts catalog for car dealerships. We agonize over UI for a largely non-computer-expert audience. My bible is Krug's "Don't Make Me Think" for UI design.

The Capture window generally doesn't require you to think about a callsign's DXCC entity: type in the callsign and strike the Enter or Tab key, and the correct DXCC entity is selected. DXLab provides an override mechanism (accessible from DXView and SpotCollector) that lets you specify the DXCC entities of ambiguous callsigns so that the Capture window can select the correct DXCC entity when you type in one of these ambiguous callsigns.
Further thought reduction is possible: the override mechanism can be expanded to retain a larger number of ambiguous callsigns and be automatically populated from sources like Jim AD1C or Club Log. Nonetheless, some thought and reasoning will still be required, just as personnel in a car dealership must be aware that cars have engines, transmissions, dashboards, and tires, and that a hubcap appearing in the parts manifest for a transmission repair is likely the result of an upstream data entry error.

There's not. Joe W4TV has accurately described the rationale for providing independent tracking of DXCC award progress in PSK. My plan is to extend this mechanism to allow the user to specify a digital mode of his or her choosing (e.g. RTTY or JT65 or JT9) and have independent DXCC award progress for that digital mode.
