Re: WSJT-X not commenting to DX Commander

HI Dave,
?
That did the job.
By way of background, ?DX Commander has not been working for several weeks. ?I finally figured out that there was a bad Windows update on 1/17. ?Once I un-installed it and did a re-installation today that solved the problem for DX Commander.?
?
This did the job for WSJT-x

I get a message on WSJT-x...Failed to connect to DX Lab Suite Commander. Connection refused.

+ Has this always been the case, or is this new behavior? If the latter, when did this behavior begin, and what changes did you make to your hardware or softare around that time.

+ On the General tab of Commander's Configuration window, click the "Net Serve" button along the right margin of the tab. In the "TCP Network Service" panel of the "Network Service" window that appears, what is specified as the Base Port? If it's not 52000, click the Default button followed by the Restart button.

Dave -
?
It was new and the command interval had been 100ms.? I changed it to 50ms.
?
As I went through the settings, I realized I had set the Primary CAT Serial Port to COM4 and the Secondary CAT Serial Port to COM4.? I disabled the Secondary port and all was well.

Sorry for the false alarm but your instructions got me to the needed configuration tabs.

If there's any documentation for interoperating with GridTracker, I could not locate it. The documentation page says "it's one the way", but is otherwise empty:
?
https://gridtracker.org/index.php/documentation/user-guide-wiki

I scanned a video showing how to enable Grid Tracker to interoperate with WSJT-X and a logging application. This enables Grid Tracker to display the locations of the stations decoded by WSJT-X, and QSOs logged in WSJT-X to be sent to the logging application. All of that functionality an more has long been provided in DXLab, either via its direct interoperation with WSJT-X or via JTAlert.

IF there were documentation, the number of external world maps that DXView supports could be increased from 2 (DX Atlas, Google Maps) to 3. Comparing this map in GridTracker?

with this map in DX Atlas

or this map in Google Earth

doesn't sent me racing to the keyboard on my DXLab development system.

Recall that a year or two ago, a release of GridTracker automatically at startup directed LoTW to download all of its user's submitted QSOs, thereby activating LoTW's undocumented "download abuse detector", which then prevented the user from employing DXKeeper to upload QSOs to LoTW or sync with LoTW. Senior ARRL personnel blamed this on DXKeeper. The GridTracker developers were less than responsive, but eventually did correct their defect; this history doesn't make me anxious to work with them.

Likely right, Dave.? I'm just reporting what happens on my Windows 11 system.? Still wondering why it collapses randomly in the first place. Until A92GE mentioned it, I thought I was the only one seeing this behavior.?

Re: DXAtlas Enhancements

Same here, no issues. The only time I ever had a problem was when I played around with the colors in the setting menu of DX Atlas. You can get some color combinations that make the line hard to see. Using the default colors in DX Atlas work well for me.

Re: Tuning Flex 8600 and Commander

The frequency tuning of my Flex 8600 is very jerky. It is jerky using the Maestro knob or with SmartSDR using the mouse.

+ Has this always been the case, or is it new behavior. If the latter, when did it start, and what changes did you make to your hardware and/or software around that time?

+ In the "Radio" panel on the Configuration window's General tab, to what is the "Command interval" set? For my 6500, I have it set to 50 ms.
