Hi. I'm Karen, and I ask to join
Hi friends. My name is Karen and I'm Gary's wife. I've done something
that isn't right and so I wanted to apologize for it and ask to join in posting on this group as a way of possibly working it out. I posted a message, which I said was anyonymous, on another board called trcm, that contained factual information about the popularity of Gary's book. I realize it was wrong to do this, even though what the message said was true and even though it is a habit of many of the people at that group to post using pseudo names. I also posted there around April using my maiden name, without pointing out that I was Gary's wife. D. Patrick Miller of Fearless Books, who is Gary's publisher, was informed by Gary of my latest posting after I told Gary. (I only told him after he asked me about it.) Patrick has told Gary that he will explain the situation to the people at trcm. I thought it was only fair to Gary that I do so here. Gary has never posted using a pseudo name, and I have only done so in the instances just described. Also, as far as I know, Gary has never said anything that wasn't true in any posting, ever. Neither have I, except for the name situation just described. I'm sorry for doing something so stupid. I didn't think that the partly hostile crowd at trcm would believe what I was saying if they knew I was Gary's wife, and I have been too anxious to try to help him. I hope Gary will see this as a call for help (knowing him, he probably will.) And I hope it will be all right with you if I post here from time to time as a way of joining. Love and thanks, Karen. |

开云体育Hi Karen:
?
I don't see that you have done anything to apologize for. Unless you mean
for not perfect. I love what it tells us in the in the Manual:
?
(M-26.4:1-5).
"Do not despair, then, because of limitations. It is your function to escape from them, but not to be without them. If you would be heard by those who suffer, you must speak their language. If you would be a savior, you must understand what needs to be escaped.Salvation is not theoretical." ?
Personally, I find (perfect?) people, usually, to be people, in a lot of
denial. Just forgive yourself, and don't take what others may say personally.
Now if only I could remember to do that. (LOL)
?
Peace Martha :-) |
Hi everyone. I'd like to thank all of you, including Linda,
Martha, Ossie, Jim and Bill, for your wonderful postings. I don't think it's very difficult to determine which thought system, love or fear, is being expressed by a person when they post a message here. As for Karen, my overly-supportive wife (LOL) I'd like to offer the same quotation from the Course (Text P.88) that Pursah spoke to me on P.211-212 of "Disappearance" - because it truly expresses how I feel about the whole situation, and how I like to feel about myself. (Pursah:) You've accused and convicted yourself. But now, think of the Holy Spirit as being like a Higher Court, as the Course describes with these great words: You need not fear the Higher Court will condemn you. It will merely dismiss the case against you. There can be no case against a child of God, and every witness to guilt in God's creations is bearing false witness to God Himself. Appeal everything you believe gladly to God's Own Higher Court, because it speaks for Him and therefore speaks truly. It will dismiss the case against you, however carefully you have built it up. The case may be fool-proof, but it is not God-proof. The Holy Spirit will not hear it, because He can only witness truly. His verdict will always be "thine is the Kingdom," because He was given to you to remind you of what you are. |
Hi Karen,
Welcome aboard! ?Your straightforwardness here is noted and appreciated. To me, there's a big difference between being intentionally "deceptive" and merely "not fully disclosed"... which is how I would see the situation of using other than your full name on a message board. But that's a practice that's certainly quite common, here in cyber-land; so I think it boils down to whether the information posted is accurate or not, and if it is, then using a nickname or maiden name is hardly a high crime..... As far as the "hostility" you mentioned, coming from certain other folks and groups; that's something I really have a tough time figuring out, too -- why people get all pissed off at you, and then REMAIN that way, even after you've explained the source of the misunderstanding... ?I mean, if it's something wrong that I really did, I can understand their being mad... but when I've simply been misunderstood, and I have clearly explained the errors in their perception -- and they STILL remain upset with me -- yes, I know it's a wonderful opportunity for me to practice advanced forgiveness, and let it go, and forgive what never happened... ?And I do! I really do, more and more all the time.... ?Still, there seems to be a part of me that just wants to know, "why?"... Ahh... ?the mysteries of life, in ego-land! On a personal note: boy, it must be "interesting" (and I mean that both seriously as well as sarcastically) being married to Gary, huh? ?When you get a moment, give us all some juicy details... ??(Kidding, Gary, I'm kidding!) ?But truly, I'm sure you'll have plenty of insights that will be of benefit to us all. Thanks for writing what was in some ways, I'm sure, a difficult post. ?I'm certain you will find it to have been worth the effort; and again, welcome! Love & Bliss, Gene |

-Hi Karen.... FA-GED-ABOUT-IT!!! (I hope that looks like something
from The Sopranos) :) That sounds just like something I would do. Gary's book is funny, informative, inspiring and thought provoking and that is all that matters. I hope you won't let a few unhappy people who are calling for love ruin even one night's sleep! Blessings and welcome. Suzanne |

LOL The nature of the holy spirt is to extend and the ego projects guilt ... and there are plenty of victims to project on their guilt and attack on. So someone has a gripe brewing inside of them ... then they find a place like this to project it out on ... just waiting and hoping that someone will take the bait. Anyone want to play catch? And depending on the bait ... some are very difficult to ignore. This reminds me of the movie with Eddie Murphy .. Nutty Professor 2 where he is a combination human being and a dog ... Even though he looks like a human being, he has the instincts of the dog and when a ball is thrown, he quickly reverts to his dog like state and runs after the ball ... forgetting that he is in human form. Also, as far as I know, Gary has never said anything
that wasn't true in any posting, ever. Neither have I, except forthe name situation just described. I'm sorry for doing something sohave been too anxious to try to help him.You never said anything that wasn't true, except making out you were "Zak" and at Endeaver Academy. And that Ted would back this up if asked. "I'm posting anonymously for personal reasons, but I just wanted to jump in and say we have over a hundred copies of "The Disappearance of the Universe" at and around Endeavor Academy. People here love it, and they're getting a lot out of it. The same thing is happening at Byron Bay in Australia. Ask anyone, including Ted Poppe, who's back in the States. This book has got something. Is it for everyone? No. Is anything? But people are seeing the Holy Spirit in this book. Peace out, Zak." When you posted before as Karen Winston, you assured everyone you had no connection with Gary or Fearless publishing and were just an impartial reader who thought the book was wonderful. And had left feedback at Amazon, saying this (and not saying you were Gary's wife here, either) I would say that was another situation where you used a different name to disguise yourself and who you were, so as to appear objective about the book. After you were busted, due to having the same IP number as Gary, you then apologized to us "partly hostile crowd" and this was warmly accepted. Remember? Everyone rushed to assure you they understood, you wanted to defend Gary and his book (does anyone/anything really need defending?) and you were welcome to continue posting there are you "real self". You choose not to. Until posting as Zak- who is at Endeaver Academy. The only stupid part of this is you still posted using the same IP number, that came back to Lewiston Maine. Even though Patrick the publisher tried to convince us that it was an AOL proxy. Even though you have adelphia and not AOL And you apparently used Gary's email address with it (massguy8) As one of the partly hostile people from the trcm newsgroup (which is unmoderated and everyone is free to say whatever they want, and deal with what they might get back) I wanted to give the other side of this. Just to set the record straight. People do use screen names on the newsgroup, some feel better guarding their privacy on the internet, but they don't usually lie and pretend they are someone else. Maybe the fact you have done this more than once, and would never have admitted it or apologize to anyone for it, if you hadn't been caught, is why people MIGHT seem a partly hostile to you? But, from what I've seen, people on trcm have always been forgiving, kind and understanding towards you. And as to them debating about Gary and the book... it's a discussion board. The subject of the book and sample of it was brought on there by D.Patrick Miller, the publisher, in the first place. If you don't want to know what people really think about something, and don't want questions and the risk that some might not like it (while just as many loved it, and are still saying this) don't being it up for discussion. Oh, yeah, I joined this newsgroup after Jeanette gave the link to it, which we before your Zak- game came out. So I didn't purposely join it to follow you here and yell at you. Gary offered to send me the book, and I'm waiting to get it, before getting into any discussions about it here. That is if what people write here as their honest feelings, thoughts and opinions gets to stay on and not deleted. If there's no free and honest discussion here, it's a waste of time, and not a realy discussion. ~ Carrie (one of the horrible-hostile newsgroup people) |
