Dear Gary,

Thank you for writing this book! I have been studying/teaching ACIM
since the early 80's. I wonder if your teachers aren't working with
us as well because I have been blown away by the examples they use and
the way they say things. We speak the same "language" and have used
so many of the same examples that it is uncanny.

I read about this book in Jon Mundy's newsletter and I just knew I had
to read it. I generally shy away from books about the Course because
I felt, "I have the Course.... what else do I need?" I am much more
focused now and determined to get this thing right after the loving
direction of Arten and Pursah.

Thank You and Arten and Pursah!

Hi

There has been such great topics and I read them all and comments....love
it, wish it could be more spontaneous like the ACIM Chat Room but then....as
being an observer just thanks to all. GP -Rob

Yes, the academy ends Thursday and we start the worksop on Friday eve, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm? and since it is only for a couple of hours so I guess folks who want to see fireworks can still do so?? :-)

Details for New York workshops (and Boston!)

Hey guys, Having attended a couple of workshops of Ken's, I'm
inspired by reading about his gig in Atlanta. It brings it all back.
And if you want to go from the sublime to the well, not as sublime,
I'm happy to give you the details of the workshops I'm doing in New
York in October. I'm teaming up with Jon Mundy, so his experience
will offset my immaturity. Jon's been speaking in public for 42
years, and I've been speaking in public for about 42 minutes. Hmmm,
this should be interesting. I do promise to share my experiences and
not compromise on the teachings, and also, as Arten and Pursah might
say, "Have fun!" Here are the details:
Oct. 11 and Oct. 12, Rock Tavern, NY and New York City, 2 separate 1
day workshops on my Course related book, "The Disappearance of the
Universe" both featuring Jon Mundy and myself. Sat. Oct. 11,
Unitarian Church in Rock Tavern, near Newburgh, NY, 10am-6pm with a
lunchbreak, $50 in advance, $60 at the door. Sun. Oct 12, same price
and hours, NIP (National Institute for Psychotherapies) 330 W 58th
St. at Columbus Circle in Manhatten. For more info or to register,
please call Jon at 845-496-9089.
BULLETIN!: For those of you in New England, it has just been
confirmed there will also be a workshop on "The Disappearance of the
Universe" Sat. Sept. 6, with yours truly flying solo for my very
first workshop. Make history near Boston at Vicki Poppe's house
(there's a delicious lunch included with this one) 140 Adams St. in
Quincy, MA. Vicki has the biggest Course group in the Boston area,
and wanted to host my first workshop. It will be from 10am to 5pm,
$50 in advance or at the door. For more info or to register please
call Vicki at 617-472-1443. I hope to meet you!

Hello mastreet@...,

In reference to your comment:

è hmmm I am wondering if knocking out, is the same as
è exposing? He constantly reminds us, that we cannot
è undo something (ego) if we do not know that we have
è one.

Yes the goal of the boxer is the find the weakness of its opponet and exploit/expose it.? With Jesus help, I believe Ken is effective in exposing the thought system of the ego.? And when? one exposes the treacherous ego thought system for what it is, Ken is in effect just KO'ed the ego.? LOL

There was one lady that went up to the mic and was concerning about heaven and losing the concept of herself.? She wanted to know what she was going to get out of it, because the ego thought sytem makes heaven seem boring of course losing one concept of self is terrifying.

Ken explained .. that is is a process .. that eventually through the practice of forgivness and building on the miracles experience that one begins to understand that we are in effect giving up nothing.?

What immediately came to mind was a statement in gary's book where I think it was pursah that gave an analogy about what the reflection of the experience of being in the real world would be like .. .? (I lost the book at the airport so I cannot quote from it), but in essence gary was asked about sex he agreed it was a pleasurable experience and she said that the experience of the "reflection" of the real world? ... well,? the pleasure of sex paled in comparison.

I know there is a passage in the Course that refers to the experience of the Happy Dream ... and it is nothing we could ever experience here in the ego illusion.? In fact Jesus said it is something we cannot even begin to understand because of our level of fear even though he has tried to descibe it in a way that we can catch a glimpse of it.

I know you will put what I have said in the proper perspective, if I went off base anywhere .. but sharing what I was able to remember.

Hi Ossie:
?
So good to hear from you and about the workshop you are taking.

>>A good way to describe Ken (an illusionary analogy) is that he is the boxing champion of the Course? ... ready and able and willing to knockout the thought system of the ego in less than an instant and ready to show us how to do the same.? :-)<<
?
hmmm I am wondering if knocking out, is the same as exposing? He constantly reminds us, that we cannot undo something (ego) if we do not know that we have one.

>>One point that stood out for me today is the discussion on observing the ego thought system .. and this was also discussed in gary's book.<<
?
Yes, from what I understand, the more we try to fight or deny the ego, the stronger it becomes.
?
>>There is a point where we observe the ego so much that we can get caught up in it ... we forget why we are watching it.The analogy Ken used was that we want to swim to the other side of the lake to the real world, so we dive in the water (ego thought system) ready to see with Jesus, but we get caught up, become fascinated just how sick the thought system is ... that time slips by and we forget the reason why we dived in the water in the first. That analogy reminded me of one of the symbols in gary's book urging gary to be vigilant .. don't lose sight of the goal, but remember to continue to look with Jesus.<<
?
Nice analogy. I have heard him talk about this before, and I am wondering if it is our fear, that keeps us stuck in just looking at our ego, and not going for the other shore? And thanks for the reminder of what is in Gary's book and also in the Course, about being vigilant... and not forgetting the goal.

>>Billy (his screen name escapes me at the moment) is here also ... always nice to meet someone in person that you see online.<<

Say hello to Billy from me too. It must be nice to meet someone that you have only heard from on line.
?
Love Martha :-)

Amen, Amen and Amen

I am in Atlanta for the ACIM Academy and Workshop ... ahhhh let's just say that Ken? looked fabulous in his blue stripped sear sucker (sp?) suit (hmmm never saw the term typed before ... doesn't look very nice ... but I think it was stripped). But he promised to go back to normal tomorrow.?

A good way to describe Ken (an illusionary analogy) is that he is the boxing champion of the Course? ... ready and able and willing to knockout the thought system of the ego in less than an instant and ready to show us how to do the same.? :-)

Ahhhh and after listening to him today ... he will be able to maintain his title.?? LOL

I just love to watch my ego and others try to stump him ... (unconsciously of course)

::::he he he :::::

One point that stood out for me today is the discussion on observing the ego thought system .. and this was also discussed in gary's book.

There is a point where we observe the ego so much that we can get caught up in it ... we forget why we are watching it.

The analogy Ken used was that we want to swim to the other side of the lake to the real world, so we dive in the water (ego thought system) ready to see with Jesus, but we get caught up, become fascinated just how sick the thought system is ... that time slips by and we forget the reason why we dived in the water in the first.

Peace?

Re: thankyou gary

Thank you, Tawes. And welcome! As I said to Jamie, I can't describe
how it makes me feel to see what's happening with the book. Also, I'm
glad you're in touch with the time saving quality of the miracle. As
the Course says, "Save time, my brother; learn what time is for."
(T619) Love and peace, Gary.

thankyou gary

One of the great gifts one can offer another in this form of life is
whatever helps to save time. DU is a great gift indeed. Thankyou
Gary.

A Quick Comment

Hi friends. I'm in the middle of a few things right now, but I just
wanted to welcome Jamie and thank you for your posting. I can't
describe how it makes me feel to see everything that's happening with
the book. I also thank you Martha, for your explanations of exactly
what "What It Says" is, and for your many other postings, both here
and elsewhere. I've found your observations to be on as high a level
as any of the Course teachers, and I have a feeling this will
continue in many forms. Love and peace to all, Gary.

Hi Nels:
?
It actually came after the book was already published, but I think it is the best summary of the Course that one could possibly get.
?
And I find that Gary's book is in such close alignment with the teachings of the Course, that it actually amazed me when I read it.

Greetings from a Seeker who's found What He is Looking For

Jamie

Greetings All,

I will be forever grateful to Gary and his Ascended Masters for
assisting me in my understanding of the Course. I am a member of two
Course groups and my enthusiasm for their book has led both groups to
get a copy of "Disappearence..." for the group. After finding out
about the book from another internet group and going to the Fearless
web site and reading Gary's interview about the book, I immediately
ordered the book. I devoured it and took it to my two Course groups.
I have not gotten anybody to read it yet, but the one group has not
gotten their copy yet and the other group just got their copy.
The best thing about this book for me is the insight that it
gives me into the Course. The book also is a validation of the
message of the Course. Even if I did not believe that these visitors
are who they say they are, the book would still have value in how it
looks at and helps explain the Course.
I am now delighted that this group has been established. I
found out about it yesterday and I just finishing reading all of the
messages that have been posted so far. I really value the fact that
Gary has taken such an active role in the group and I look forward to
his continued insights.
Again I am happy to have found this group and look forward to
following the members and their ideas.

Re: ACIM Summary

Nels

Hi Martha,

I changed the file to reflect the correct title.

This is a good point, because it could become confusing if there are
several more files added.

So that part was actually from the original dictation? I am just
beginning the course, and do not have it very clear in my mind yet.

Also I seem to want to jump around in it a lot. I become totally
enthralled by the poetry and imagery which in a way is not what it
is meant to teach is it? We are learning to get beyond these
illusions, yet the words are filled with such imagery and emotional
feelings for me. But I suppose that is an effective way to learn
something, because it really seems to hold one's attention!

Hi Nels:

Actually the Summary as you called it, comes from the Preface of
the Course. "How it came?" and "What it is?" was written by Helen
Schucman. "What it says?" came from the same Inner Voice that
dictated the Course. This is the part you called, the Summary.

But I must say it is always helpful for me, to read it again.

Peace Martha

Hi Gary,

That is really funny! I didn't know where that summary came from. All
I knew was that whoever wrote it seemed to know what they were
talking about. Now when I look at my copy I see I have most of it
marked and underlined there. It gave me chills too, when I read your
response. Now if I can just get my chest back down to normal:-)

It is really great having you join in with your energy and
enthusiasm. You can be sure it is very appreciated.

Hi Nels, and welcome! I agree with Sheila; uploading the summary of

realized that Arten and Pursah were saying these very same things
in

perfect reminder of what ACIM is really all about. Love and peace,
