Q multiplier cable
The cable of the 2-AQ and 2-BQ is hard-wired in the Q multiplier end.? Steve Wedge, W1ES Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana. Sent from for iOS On Tue, Jan 28, 2025 at 22:38, Paul N5NEN via groups.io <n5nen@...> wrote:

? Of course I could just tie the two heath cables to the Drake Plug. I will do that if there is no special cable?
thanks? |
Did you verify that Q multiplier is wired for the Drake's IF? ?

The Drake wiring is nothing special, IIRC. Four conductors.? Steve Wedge, W1ES Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana. Sent from for iOS On Wed, Jan 29, 2025 at 12:45, Dave Edwards via groups.io <kd2e@...> wrote:

Wiring is easy...what I meant was if the Q mulitiplier was built for the Drake IF frequency?? It had a few options, I believe.?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe QF-1 was designed for a 450 to 460IF s only. The scopes could built? for different IFs? KE7KK |
The heath QF1 ?455 IF matches the 2a / 2b ? The heath can be wired for 6 or 12 filament voltage. ?Drake is 6. Yes, the Drake connects for power and IF with 4 wires to a 4-pin connector.?
? heath used coax for the IF; ?3 wires and shield for power.? I plan to try a 4 wire mike cable and use the shielded wire for the IF. ?I don¡¯t know if that is necessary but I don¡¯t want the ac and b+ currents messing with the IF. ? ?Don¡¯t know exactly why; After all, I am just an amateur.? |
