The connector provides a 6.3v heater voltage, B+, ground, and a loop for the audio.? This was almost certainly a modification to accommodate some sort of external, tube-based device that did some sort of audio filtering or processing.? RTTY maybe?? Terrible hack job -- I'd remove it.
