Nostalgia is a little bit nutty. Ameco AC-1's in even halfway good condition go for crazy prices and that's for a crystal controlled low watt transmitter with plug in coils that a Heathkit DX-20 can beat for power, usability, etc (as long as one can ignore the vane meter beating itself into submission). The pricing on the AC-1's is sometimes comparable to my Hammarlund SP-600 receiver, one of the best analog tube receivers ever made. So yeah, it is nutty.

I have a box of pots but I need to know the specifics of what you need.

Re: Nice station at Raleigh fest

I saw that TR4 also Howie, and for $100 I might have bought it just for a hot spare, but it was still at 150$ when last seen.

I was at the table just to the right of the 4 line (and Nick stuck a picture of me as the last shot of the collection.? We've known each other since the inception of the Boatanchors list lo these many years ago. He and I were 2 of the 5 first on the distribution list, and I was living in NM at the time)

All I bought was a Eldico tube type keyer/paddle combo which I've never seen before.

Both. I currently use mostly warm white frosted from Cointaker, but this started as a homebrew project.

Based on some research I did it seems that pure blue lighting is actually hard on the eyes. That's not just a subjective opinion. I went through a pure blue phase on my 7 line. It looked really cool. But after a couple of years of that I switched to warm white with fresh Lagoon Blue filters. Much better. I'll never go back.

But there's no real need to worry about your eyes. You do have two of them... :)

WOW….WHAT a display of vintage, gems, boat anchors and all things HAM!

I wish some of the prices were more visible…I have a few Hammarlund’s(110,170,180), HAllicrafters(HT-37,S-76,S-36), from an old bud SK estate that I would like to get into new owner hands….No idea condition of any of them….Cosmetics great, works?????? PRICING NO CLUE....they all still have a 2 conductor power cords….

I am finishing up revitalizing a complete Collins S-line, amp, accessories, manuals into an above avg. functional state. Next be mine complete Drake twins, amp, etc. The H&H will just have to wait….took me 35 years to find a descent, reasonable, non-museum, non-abused Collins S line and 25 years to find a similar condition set of Drakes I had to part with in the 70’s to get cash for college….

Thems’ were the DAYS!

Geeze, $1700.00 for an R4-C??!!? It may be a nice specimen of the make/model but......

Well, I guess the seller is trolling for that person who is from the "there is one born every minute..." crowd.

Like Rick, I bought mine in the mid 70's.? The RX and Xmitter were $599 each from Burghart and they are running fine today.? But $1700 for an R4-C?

Ah, yes the age thing.? It is at times difficult, but when you step back, being still here is worth it even through the busyness of the business.? But there is an advantage to continuing to do those things you can and can do well as it satisfies?an old and persistent need to be active and valuable.? You have your business, I have my things... We all, if fortunate to be able to realize it, are busy for a deeper reason.

keep it up.

This was a "no sale" for $450 yesterday at the Raleigh hamfest.?? Nice clean C line at a good price.? I'd have bought it except for the fact that I have a lifetime supply already.
