Re: Vernier drive
Thanks for all of the comments on the vernier drive. I plan to replace the vernier drive soon. Hopefully the slightly longer leads on the neon panel lamps I recently replace will allow me to rotate

Re: Vernier drive
When it comes to lubricating parts in electronic equipment, I've always believed in a very small amount of lubricant and if that doesn't work, I try another small amount but typically only one

Re: Vernier drive
I had forgotten about the difference until recently, when I fitted one of my spares into an R-4B. The pointer was way off. I tried another one (they do look a little different from each other) that

Re: Vernier drive
Really?? Comparing my B line, they seem the same.? The T-4XB does have the 160m section spread out lower but that is the tuned circuits, no? I do have to tear out the vernier in my R-4B again.?

CAREFUL! I don't know about lubing these. I have on my SB-220 those drives on the plate and load caps. NICE. But the Plate cap one was really stiff. Those drives were surplus in the 70's when

Just go slowly and be careful. You will also want to take some ESD precautions. Take pictures of everything before you take is apart. 73 -Jim NU0C "Rick K8EZB" <frboswell@...> wrote: -- 73 -Jim
