Re: 6EA8 - Brand Recommendations?
Hi Gary, Have those tubes shipped? The tracking says the shipping label was created on the 8th but still just says USPS is awaiting the item so thought I'd ask. Thanks, Barry - N4BUQ

Re: TR-4 : Constant tone with 100kHz Calibrator
I really need run my test again to verify that I got the decimal point in the right place. I have no test equipment other than the FTdx transceiver. I'll get back to the group on this if this is not

Re: TR-4 : Constant tone with 100kHz Calibrator
Frank, a couple of things come to mind. Do you mean 500-Hz (a/k/a, cps) instead of 500-kHz (a/k/a, kc)? That's a big difference. If the difference is 500-Hz, is the sideband switch in the "X" position

Re: TR-4 : Constant tone with 100kHz Calibrator
Yes, check your passband and sideband. I still do this occasionally. The Twins use LSB for CW. Steve Wedge, W1ES Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana. Sent from [Proton

Re: TR-4 : Constant tone with 100kHz Calibrator
Hi Frank, Really 500Kc?? Could it be 500c? (500Hz nowadays)? 500-800Hz is about the normal C line offset. You should use LSB on the R-4 for CW.. could you be using USB? 73, Gary WB6OGD

Re: TR-4 : Constant tone with 100kHz Calibrator
Hello: I¡¯m Frank KB0W in Eldorado CA. I have several nice Drake Cline rigs that I love but I have a problem. I used my Cline (R4C serial no. 27665, T4XC Serial no. 28567) for years with great DX

Re: SPR-4 xtal selector switch glass
Peter: Many thanks for sending a photo of the SPR-4 preselector overlay for use with the FS-4. These overlays must be very rare because I¡¯ve never seen one, but I have seen the R-4 (any) overlays

Re: SPR-4 xtal selector switch glass
Peter, Here is one more picture that might be helpful.? This is an original strip of Drake stickers for the SPR-4 crystal dial.? It makes a great reference for the settings for each possible band

Re: SPR-4 xtal selector switch glass
Very interesting information. Until 21.5 MHz the plastic xtal dial on my SPR-4 has bright numbers and letters printed on it. Hereafter adhesive labels for other xtals and band positions. I expected

Re: TR-4 : Constant tone with 100kHz Calibrator
And now we have a new good way to set the Carrier Oscillator, improving on Drake's "make the noise the same on both sidebands" method. Not so easy to accurately set 9.0MHz if you don't have many
