Re: T-4XC has a "condition"
I have seen loss of bias not only with a failed capacitor in the bias supply but also with dirty contacts in the Jones connector from the AC-4 to the transmitter. DeOxIt is a good cleaner for this.

Re: T-4XC has a "condition"
How have you set your bias. That¡¯s the first step. Pinned to the right is not a condition you want to be in for long so I would suggest not tuning up until you figure it out. ?I would verify that

T-4XC has a "condition"
GM all and HNY I have a T-4XC in great condition but is not acting normal. It puts out 110 watts, sounds great on CW and cooperates with my straight key. Unknown about the SSB side because I never

Re: VE3EFJ third mixer mod for the R4C
Did you alter the feedback network to roll off above the speech range? May of the reference designs built around these are for hi-fi bandwidth. "Bob Loving via groups.io"

Re: TR7 next problem
Those are some strange readings you are seeing on your counter. Per the service manual the high VCO should free run at around 32 MHz. Operating range is 63.05 to 78.05 MHz. "Jim Harris via groups.io"

Thank you for that info! You are 100% right about the MS-4 in stock form (its fidelity is pitiful though). I am more of an SWL type person, which is what motivated me to make changes to the MS-4. A
