Re: Problem with carrier balance pot on T-4XC

Re: For Sale Beautiful 4A Line Sacramento, CA
My records say I sent you a pcb. Just after I made the Sherwood boards, another guy was selling completed ones on ebay but I don't see he's still there. 73, Gary WB6OGD

Re: Problem with carrier balance pot on T-4XC
Ok. It makes sense now. Given that nothing appears to be broken, any suggestions on how I can get enough preload on the bearings so that they will turn the armature? -- Bill N0CU

Re: For Sale Beautiful 4A Line Sacramento, CA
Steve, Put in the Sherwood product detector mod and I bet it will improve a lot. It did to my R-4B which is just like your 11 tuber. The 13 tube R-4A though still has slower nicer AVC and sounds

That's a nice-looking set! I have an 11-tube set that's in that sort of shape, too. it does sound great -- even with the SS prod det. Steve Wedge, W1ES/4 Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a

Re: Problem with carrier balance pot on T-4XC
The behaviour you describe is normal for that component. The reduction drive will continue to attempt to drive the wiper, even after it has hit its hard stop. I hope you can get it back together

Re: Drake T4XC and R4C
The procedures in the manuals call for each to be aligned without being connected to the other. That is the basic alignment and, with the correct INJ cable, should work equally from the TX or RX as

And if you have ever really adjusted the null, you would know that is a VERY fine adjustment, even with the reduction drive! 73, Gary WB6OGD

The carrier null is so sharp it has to be a multi turn pot. Rob, NC0B

Problem with carrier balance pot on T-4XC
When I initially checked the carrier balance awhile back it looked like this pot (R21) was set correctly. Today, I attempted to do the filter match alignment (Sec 5.9 in the instruction manual). The

Re: L-7 Internal Low Pass Set? #ForSale
Yes. It was installed in a L7 amplifier to prevent it from being driven on 10-11 meters. Not very useful I would say.... Most get tossed in the trash.. Which they should be. 73, Jim W7RY -- Thanks and

Re: Drake T4XC and R4C
Gregg, If you are going to use with the T4XC, align it with it connected to the transmitter. The injection and antenna cables need to be drake spec cables. That does make a big difference overall. My

Re: L-7 Internal Low Pass Set? #ForSale
I bought a L7 back then new and then converted it to be an export model.? You had to change one input silver mica, re-tune it, remove a set screw so the band switch would move to the 10 meter
