Almost museum quality Drake 4A line, perfect for your collection or working
station. I bought it from the original owner way back in 1980!
Very few spots on the shiny copper chassis, very few very small scratches
on the smooth black cabinets. Everything works well.

R-4A? 13 tube SN 3790
Remember, the R-4A comes with all 4 filters, Calibrator, Noise Blanker.? Tube
product detector and audio chain and the slowest AVC with the nicest audio.
Converted to the cheaper 6BZ6 RF amp (one wire change).

T-4X SN 10673
T-4X puts out 140 watts on 40m and at least 100watts on 10m.? Finals and
driver were a matched set from Drake I installed in the late '80s but I put
very low hours with careful tuning since then. The T-4X has the Drake designed
FSK mod on the PTO for old school RTTY.

MS-4 speaker with Mil-spec power supply
Power supply is custom built Mil-spec quality by the original Engineer
owner.? It makes the Drake supplies look like they were built by a 5 year old.
It was built for continuous RTTY use, it fits inside the MS-4 speaker just like
the Drake supply.

I just replaced the old tired pilot lights with LEDs so the illumination is
now nice and blue-green with matched intensity.

Comes with original manuals, QA tags, interconnection cables, receipt for
finals.? More photos or info on request.

$750 plus shipping.. or hopefully, pickup or meetup in northern CA.

Re: Problem with carrier balance pot on T-4XC

The behaviour you describe is normal for that component.? The reduction drive will continue to attempt to drive the wiper, even after it has hit its hard stop.? I hope you can get it back together again.

Also, be aware of what the procedure tells you as far as rotation of the main tuning? There are portions of the procedures where they direct you to go "up in frequency" and others where they give you clock directions (CW, CCW/ACW).

Re: Drake T4XC and R4C

The procedures in the manuals call for each to be aligned without being connected to the other.? That is the basic alignment and, with the correct INJ cable, should work equally from the TX or RX as the frequency control.? If there are discrepancies, I would look at the cable first.? The cable material and length were chosen so that the TX and RX keep their alignment when connected together, so if you've done the alignment on both the TX and RX and the TX is giving you less sensitivity, that could indicate a bad cable.

The cables were chosen for a value of capacitance and not for impedance.? Only the INJ cable on the B and earlier sets has this spec.? All other cables can be basic audio-quality cables -- including the RX ANT.? On the C Line, the CAR OSC cable is also made for RF but I'm not certain what its spec was or is.? I've used quality coax for that cable, as the appearance of the factory cables appears to be the same as the INJ cable.

Yes. It was installed in a L7 amplifier to prevent it from being driven on 10-11 meters.

Re: Drake T4XC and R4C

Gregg,

If you are going to use with the T4XC, align it with it connected to the transmitter. The injection and antenna cables need to be drake spec cables. That does make a big difference overall. My R4C hears better than my Icom 7300...significantly for in the mud DX. MY R4C is the go getter for weak signal work after being fully aligned.

Re: L-7 Internal Low Pass Set? #ForSale

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I bought a L7 back then new and then converted it to be an export model.? You had to change one input silver mica, re-tune it, remove a set screw so the band switch would move to the 10 meter position and then remove the filter which was on a PC board along with it's attached input and out put coaxial cables.? You then put in a new longer piece of coax connecting the amp input SO-239 to the input of the amplifier.? Your amp was now an export model without the 10 meter label on the band switch.
