M2 did not have any information on this legacy antenna, but this was a reasonable try. ?I had a response via qth.com with wind load information, but not survival wind speed.

I'm thinking about going ahead and replacing the vernier drive for the
plate cap on my L-4B.? I got a pointer from Max-Gain for the vernier.?
The new vernier seems a bit tight to me, but I've only tried it with a
1/2" or so diameter knob.? It may be much easier to turn with the larger
2" knob.? Question for the group is does one lubricate the vernier drive
as routine maintenance??? If so, what does one use to lubricate it?

That's basically what I said. All that is needed for a vertical "dipole" is a quarter wavelength of wire and a common mode choke a quarter wavelength back down the shield. The outside of the coax shield will happily radiate, regardless of the insulation. You could put a clamp-on choke 1/4-wave down the coax, coil the coax up at that point as a choke, or just slide a 1/4-wave piece of copper tubing over the coax and solder the braid to it.

On the RV-75....
Confirm the broken resistor IS a 10K ohm, like the one next to it.
The burned one on the side of P/J 206 is 150 ohm.
The manual instructions for programming the dip switch frequencies has an error in it somewhere as I recall.? Thought I had that figured out a while?back....but no...didn't work as expected.? It was a lot simpler and quicker to just start flipping the dip switches and checking the results using the TR-7.? You get the hang of it quickly that way and see your results/mistakes right away.? Forget the mathematical way!
I have those Capar electrolytics?in mine too, as do you.? I need to change them, though the RV-75 is working fine....for now.
