Re: DR7
U9005 and U9006 are MC14510 are up/down counters.? They either count pulses generated by the band up / down buttons, or get loaded by the digital control board.? ?The inputs I was concerned about
R4B back to life after 30 years! But need a front panel.
I just picked up a B-line that had been in storage for 30 years.? As soon as UPS drove off I started opening boxes to see what I had.? So far I have plugged in the receiver and it actually works

I have the Drake R-4B and the T-4XC. ?Both PTOs ?settle down very quickly. ?The next time, I turn on the R4-4, I will measure the drift with my counter. -- 73, Bernie. VE3FWF

I was actually thinking more of temperature stability with a precision regulator. 73 -Jim NU0C "wb6ogd" <garywinblad@...> wrote:

Re: PTO help needed
I have and I think I actually tried it.. supplying just less than the zener voltage.?? Didn't help IIRC, Voltage stability is actually good, its temp stability that can use work, 73, Gary WB6OGD

Re: PTO help needed
Doug reports a 1966 vintage and Peter shows that to be the early bipoler PTO. Exactly consistent with my early (13 tube) R-4A which also drifts... almost exactly 1KHz! My later R-4B with the FET PTO

Re: PTO help needed
I've often wondered if there could be any benefit to a precision regulator IC in place of the Zener. Has anyone else pondered this? 73 -Jim NU0C "VE7PS" <ve7ps@...> wrote:

Re: PTO help needed
Doug: You didn't state the serial number but that manufacture date puts the serial number at close to the 23,900-24,000 range. That likely means you have a PTO based on the #19,500 schematic which is

Re: PTO help needed
That's a lot of good information from Peter, Harold, and Gary. Peter, the TR-4 was placed in service Aug 19, 1966 according to notes in the manual by the original owner. Assume the manufacture date to

Re: L4B Power Supply HV Wire Gauge
HV properties of various coaxial cable. RG-59 has a smaller center conductor, and is rated at 2300 VRMS. RG-6 has a larger center conductor, and is rated at 2700 VRMS. RG-59 is 22 AWG, RG-6 is 18 AWG.

You know the wire Drake originally used has lasted since 1978 in My L7. Just a note. Tim WB8UHZ

You can get Belden 15KV Test Lead wire in Red or Black. Been using it for years now. 73, Dick, W1KSZ ________________________________ Sent: Wednesday, March 10, 2021 12:18 PM To: [email protected]

Just buy wire that¡¯s rated 10k -15k . I have had wire from RF parts that failed! It was military surplus and I don¡¯t think it was labeled correctly. 73s Byron AC9PA
