I operate way more often using vintage (Drake &? Hallicrafters and other old marine)? radios than newer stuff and have actually had amateurs "break in " just to tell me and the other guy I was talking to we were "Off Frequency"
(Hint....We were ON each others frequency)
I spent more than 30 years operating airborne HF ssb equipment.? The Collins 618T-2 and HFS-900S are 2 examples.
While I don't know anyone with a privately owned HFS-900 (they're something like $50K) I do know people running the 618T series of vintage Collins HF radios (along with SunAir and others) that only operate on even-kHz "channels" and they are effectively excluded from those 1/2kHz nets.? They all only tune in 1 kHz steps 2-30MHz
I don't care where anyone wants to operate but I also wonder why would anyone want a published net frequency to be one that excludes anyone??
