It isn't quite the case that this has only been covered in England, but, noone in America is paying attention at the moment.?

So they're planning to sell the company under Chapter 11 protection, which isn't the same thing as the company disappears, and Anne Wojcicki, who has resigned as CEO (but is staying on the board), I wondered if she could be facing reality, is planning to try to privately buy it.? In other words, nothing at all will change at 23andMe.?

In other words, not much will change at 23andMe in terms of, like, their price structure makes any sense.

I'm not going to delete my data.? Whatever good it's going to do them.?? I won't update my sample from ten years ago until the need to get their useless health testing and the subscription fee go away, Wojcicki knows it, and she will stay out of touch with reality until the end of time.?? What, Russian oligarchs might find out I'm related to them?!? They might develop cures to disease our pharmaceutical industry didn't bother to?? They aren't going to, but if they did, all power to them!??

Yours,

Dora

It's a real shame... IMHO 23andme really missed a trick by removing the matching segments feature, and failing to put it back in after the data breach had blown over (somewhat).
?
That and the fact that most users don't seem to be interested in communicating (and so presumably aren't particularly interested in family history) made it pretty useless for me anyway.
?
As they say on Dragon's Den 'and for that reason... I'm out' - and have deleted my account. Too much uncertainty.

I¡¯m not going to delete my data either, as humble as it is. ?Nothing will change with me either, Dora ¡ª just?keep on chugging along this genealogical quest. ?
