Tm 700
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello Radiotech: If you mean the TM-D700, it works fine with a DINAH
out-of-the-box, assuming you want 1200 baud output from the radio,
pin 4, not 9600 on pin 5. There is a jumper to change that
behavior, but I do the same thing through an external cable that
was wired so that pin 4 crosses over to pin 5 on the cable itself. I am using a TM-D700A and a DINAH for an Allstarlink remote base radio. The only thing I don't like is that you can't change the logic
behind what the data port does with squelch. If you use the 9600
baud output, which provides discriminator for audio coming from
the radio, CTCSS decoding doesn't work at all. It might as well
not be on. If you use the 1200 baud output on pin4, COS will still open with
carrier. So, if CTCSS is on and the wrong or no tone is passed,
COS will happen, but there will be no audio. You can change the
behavior on other radios, like the TM-V71A, such that COS follows
squelch rather than carrier, or BUSY as the TM-V71A calls it, but
not on the D700A, at least without hardware mods. BTW, if anyone
has done a hardware mod to change this behavior of a D700A, I'd
love to hear from you.
Also, if you plan on using it with HamVoIP/ASL in linktolink
configuration, I've discovered that it still sends COS even when
it is transmitting. So I have an in-line board with a relay that
cuts COS off when something is sent to the radio from the network.
This, too, is not a problem with the TM-V71A if you set it to
follow squelch.
Other than that, it works well.
