How do I setup the Kenwood TM-V7 with DINAH?
I believe the V7 has a 6pin mini din plug on it. If it does then yes it does. The 6 pin mini din maybe behind a front panel. Not sure as Kenwood did that on some of their older model dual bands.

We are using a V7 in a hospital for Winlink Vara FM. We had to shave off some of the plastic hub to get the cable to seat in the plug. Kenwood later started mounting them on the rear of the radio in newer models not so recessed.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIn addition to that, if the TM-V7 is like the TM-D700 (same vintage) then you can't make the DIN port follow squelch instead of carrier, meaning anything can make COS go high, regardless of the state of the PL decoder. If there is no tone, you'll just get COS with no audio, meaning some noise or a loose squelch can silently tie up simplex nodes. Maybe the radio can be modified to prevent that. I'm not sure. The TM-V71A has a menu option to change this behavior. The TM-D700A? doesn't, so I'm nearly positive the TM-V7 doesn't either, since the D700A had more features. I ran into an issue with my TM-D700A in linktolink mode, where it would still send COS while the radio was transmitting, which made a bunch of noise and wasted bandwidth. Again, this is fixed in the V71A when logic is set to SQL. This was less of a problem when using it as a standard simplex node (duplex=1, linktolink=no) with ASL/HamVoIP. If you're using Winlink or Direwolf, none of this matters. I had help from Masters Communications eliminating that problem.
