I purchased the DINAH as a means to connect my V71a to an allstar node (RPI3b+) and control it (frequency agile) using the HAMLIB rigctl library. To test i am using the command " rigctl -m 227 -r /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 38400 -v " but instead of connecting i get the following result "rig_open: error = IO error".

dmesg command shows me this;

I have no personal experience with HAMLIB but I believe your problem is you are missing a cable.? HamVOIP Allstar includes the HAMLIB but the connection for sending HAMLIB control commands to your rig is not made through a radio URI such as RIM, DINAH,? RA-35, etc. These URIs just provide the audio and radio keying (PTT, COS) interface. I think you also have to make a connection from a Raspberry Pi USB port to the 8 pin DIN connector labeled "PC" on your TM-V71A using a USB programming cable.? There is a "How To" link about using HAMLIB on the HamVOIIP website but it does not work for me. You can search the HamVOIP forum at?? ?Looks like lots of good information there.?
