ID-1 on 32 bit Windows 7
beamar
A few years ago, I bought a 32 bit netbook, running Windows 7. I successfully installed the ID-1 software on it. There was some extra step that I had to take, to get the software to run. I cannot remember what it was or where I found the information.? I recently had problems with my 32 bit Vista laptop. I put Windows 7 on it. The ID-1 software will not run. There is a driver problem. There is a lot of information on-line about 64 bit Windows 7 and the ID-1. But, I cannot seem to find anything about 32 bit Windows 7. Can someone point me in the right direction? -- Buddy WB4OMG |
Buddy, ? I hope someone responds with help.? I haven't been able to bring up?my ID-1?with either of?my Windows 7 computers.? Both have been upgraded from XP, and now I can't find suitable drivers for them.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýCan you be more specific as to which driver is giving you the error?? Also when you installed the drivers had you plugged in the ID-1 to the USB port first?? I have the ID-1 running on win7 32 bit in my shack and since I cannot recall exactly what I did to get it running I believe it was a straight forward install with the exception of accepting the serial ¨® USB driver as no WORL compliant for Win7 ? Since I also had this problem I figured I should post where I found the answer. Do a search for message 803 and follow the instructions carefully. After fighting with this for two weeks it is now working fine.My web page has moved, and as a result, the link is broken. Here is the new link: |
Are you saying this link successfully installs the drivers for 32 bit Win 7? That was what the original posting was about.

I didn't say that. I said the quoted link to my site was broken. I have no idea what works (or not) on 32-bit Windows 7.

I am the one who posted the link back to Dean's post.

This thread had stopped without any positive answer and I felt this would help others searching for a solution. The current driver file that you download from the FTDI site states it is for both 32 and 64 bit Windows 7. The hard part for me was actually installing the drivers correctly and Dean explained that perfectly. Did you try it? You don't state if it worked for you or not.
