ID-1s and Linked/ Gateway/Reflector Repeaters in Minneapolis

For those of you who have Icom ID-1 radios, you might be feeling left out of the whole linked repeater/reflector project.??
And the fact that our emergency data network is not on the Internet by design might be a little dull.??

Don't fret- you can jump on one of several Gateway linked 1.2 DV machines we have in town,
and chat with any 20,000 or so users on the more than 1000 linked repeaters out there on any band.

The best system in town on 1.2 is probably Alan's - downtown Minneapolis on 1283.300.??
Set up your software to go to:
Your:??CQCQCQ??Rpt1 KD0JOU A??Rpt2 KD0JOU G

Linking to a reflector is the same syntax (new memory channels) with REF053AL in the "your" field and unlinking has "REF053AU" in your.

The rules have been changed by the reflector folks to allow more than one deck /band on a given machine to be on the same reflector,
such as the Minnesota one, REF053A.??
So we might be able to leave the 1.2 decks on 53a, and so you can talk to the 440 and 2M folks as well.
?
The Statewide build-out is done, as was announced, and the last of the systems we got is currently in Fargo @NDSU, to be on the air soon on 444.000 as KD0SWQ.?

Hi all.

We have completed the design, prototype, and FCC/CE testing for the new 70cm
version of the DVAP. It has the same red case and power levels as the 2M
unit.

The units should be available through dealers the first week of October.

Re: 23cm on-glass antenna?

Wow, a quick search of the "Pulse Electronics" website (current owner of Larsen Antenna products) shows 10 models in the "Kulglass" line

NONE of them cover 1.2
Yet I did buy one (a 1.2 GHz Kulglass) in the mid 90's...

Guess I'm glad I still have it...

Re: D-Rats setup with ID-1

I'm glad yours worked.

My first guess on your friends ID-1 is the Com port is NOT com 6. He can verify the Com Port with the ID-! program in the "Options" menu. Then set D-Rats to that port number. This is why the ID-1 program cannot be on at the same time as D-Rats (both want the same port...).

He needs to make sure the setting
"DV Data TX" is "AUTO". Most likely it is, but have him check.

Let me know what happens please.

Thanks Arnold You information got me up and working with D-Rats.
I know I'm now working because when I type in something in the D-Rats chat screen then hit send I can see my ID-1 do an automatic Transmit.

Now when working with a friend that has the very same setup we cant get his ID-1 radio to send any thing he has entered in his D-Rats chat screen. We have configured his D-Rats preference-Radio settings exactly like my settings. We have also, we think, configured his radio settings same as mine. We are also assuming that his cable is good and his comport setting are good because his computer interface for the radio respond to each other. In other words he can communicate with his radio with his computer.

BOTTOM LINE can you think of anything we have missed that would prevent his D-Rats to communicate with his radio?

Yes, the computer interface software needs to be off.. RC-24? The only
interface I've used is the USB cable using Com port 6.

is meant in the
D-Rats instructions when it states "Cannot use PC application"
3. Do I need to register my ID-1 radio on the gateway or is
