Re: 1.2 DV, DD simplex

FYI, here in Central Florida, we use frequencies in the 1258 to 1259 range, for DD Simplex. We probably should have some sort of shared non protected general use DD simplex frequency. Believe it or not, a few years ago, I did a DD demonstration, at a hamfest and actually had some interference, on the frequency that I had chosen. I never could figure out what it caused it. Must have been a computer birdy, because it was constant. Buddy Morgan WB4OMG On May 27, 2010, at 12:27:02 PM, "John Hays" wrote:

Re: 1.2 DV, DD simplex
There are no 'national' calling frequencies for "DV" or "DD" in the US. ?You need to find some locals and agree upon one. ? The nice thing about 23 cm is that in most parts of the country you have wide latitude to pick a frequency. Here is an example from Proposed Utah Simplex Frequencies on 23 CM: 1298.0 Digital Data Simplex 1 (192.168.98.0/24 network addresses?) |

Re: 1.2 DV, DD simplex
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯d be really, really surprised, if you put out a CQ on ANY frequency on 1.2 and got a response. Actually, I¡¯d be surprised if you got a response if you called on all frequencies. ? Most people listening will probably be listening on the repeater frequencies. ? If you choose a frequency, make sure that it¡¯s not in an allocated space, especially satellite areas. ? DD will probably never have a call channel. Too many details such as IP addresses have to be considered and there is no voice in DD mode. ? Ed WA4YIH ? From: D-STAR_23cm@... are still a lot of hams that dislike D-Star. I couldn't hear anything on that link, even though there were many hams connected, according to the dstarinfo.com site for REF01C. That being said, the repeaters around here aren't used much at all. Even the analog repeaters have been pretty quiet. I guess we need to be more active though I admit I am still learning about my D-Star radios. 73, Tom KC9ONY --- In D-STAR_23cm@..., Mark Thompson <wb9qzb_groups@...> wrote:

D-STAR Reflector 1C Internet Feed
Listen to DSTAR via the internet Everyone is welcome to listen to DSTAR without purchasing any equipment. A DSTAR feed is now available via the radioreference.com website. This feed is usually connected to Reflector 1c which is generally the busiest feed. The direct link is:? Scroll to the bottom of the page & look for the DSTAR link. Click on the "speaker" icon to start listening.? You can also listen to any of these feeds via your iphone or blackberry as long as you have the unlimited data plan. 73 Mike KF4ZW |
