Re: Setting up DD

Id1-dd is just a data pipe . No driver is needed. Ethernet interface, but you need to setup your own ip address, gateway address and your own routing table.?

Setting up DD

I have had my ID-1 for several years but have never been able to muddle through the setup on the computer to make it do data. I am operating Windows 10 now on my computer and am able to control as well as program the radio from the computer so it is hooked up properly by the USB connection.

I am sure there is a step by step somewhere but I am unable to find it on proper computer setup. I can work my way through steps but if someone has the complete setup from start to finish on making it work that would be great.

Re: File - D-STAR 23cm Monthly Announcement.txt

as for the antenna, I utilize the Comet GP-21 on my 1..2 ghz repeaters.
and for the duplexer, I use the TX / RX systems Triplexer- # 36-97-07053-A

Not sure on the interface cables.

Hi, folks!

?

I purchased a white environmentally sealed D-Star box. Well, two actually. One is the 23cm data radio and one is the 23cm DV module. I was advised by the good folks at K5TIT at the Plano Hamfest that the DV module has everything in it to be a standalone repeater, no external server required, and can also manage the 70cm and 2m DV modules (that I don’t have).

?

That’s good news for the insides, but now I’m looking for the mil-style connectors to make the ethernet, power and other cables to fire it up and set it up.

?

The intent is to install these in Carrollton Texas.

?

I have noticed that years ago most of the municipalities in the Dallas area obtained ID-1’s as part of a grant, but many of them cannot hit the few 23cm DD systems. As a result, the ID-1’s sit unused in boxes, if they even know where they area. One guy in our club, KB5NFT, went around and programmed stuff in them but that was even before W5FC got their stack on the air.

?

Anyway, I want to set up the infrastructure for support the Carrollton – Farmers Branch – Addison ID-1’s (and any other agency or ham that has one) with these units. We have a venue – we have other club repeaters and backup repeaters there – so I’m on the hunt for the following:

?

23 cm duplexer

23 cm antennas

Cables or at least the connectors

Great advice, suggestions and pictures
