Noisy Checkers Tutorial by LMKuhns_Creations Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental and unintended. This tutorial assumes you know how to use basic menu tools and functions in Paint Shop Pro and Jasc Animation Shop. This tutorial was written using PSP version #12. Required Supplies: Programs: Paint Shop Pro (Demo Available Here) Jasc Animation Shop 3 (Available Here) Incredimail Letter Creator (Demo Available Here) Plugins: No outside filters are needed. Materials: A tube. One that is taller than it is wide may work best. Let's begin! 1. Open your tube. 2. Duplicate image and close original. 3. Resize your tube to a maximum of 200 pixels in width. Let the height self-adjust. Take note of the height of your tube (you will need it in a later step). 4. Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen (if necessary). 5. Edit, Copy. 6. From your tube, choose a light color for your foreground. Choose a dark color for your background. 7. File, New: Width: 250 pixels. Height: Height of your resized tube + 50 pixels. Raster background, transparent. 8. Selection Tool, Custom Selection: Top: 0 Left: 200 Right: 50 Bottom: Height of your canvas. 9. Floodfill selected area with your light color. 10. Accents if desired. Settings remain the same unless otherwise noted. Part 1: Preparations 1. Open your tube. Duplicate (shift +D) your tube. Close the original. 2. Using your Eye Dropper Tool, choose a light color from your tube for your foreground and a darker color for your background. 3. Image, Resize: Width: No more than 300 pixels Height: No more than 350 pixels Resample Using: Smartsize Lock Aspect Ratio: Checked Resize All Layers: Checked 4. Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen (if necessary). 5. Edit, Copy. Part 2: Create Your Background 1. Note: Add your desired drop shadow to your tube and accents. 32. Add your watermark and necessary artist credits. 33. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. 34. File, Export, Jpeg Optimizer, Compression Value 15 (or your preference), Click OK, Save. Part 3: Assemble Your Stat In LC 1. Open Incredimail Letter Creator and assemble your file as a new stationery. 2. In the "Body Tab" choose "Image" and enter your canvas you have saved. Be sure to click "Tile". 3. Choose your fonts, margins, create your footer, title your stat, etc. 4. Please remember to give credit to any artist's work which you may have used in your work. This tutorial assumes you know how to install and use plugins in Paint Shop Pro. This tutorial was written using PSP version #10. Required Supplies: Programs: Paint Shop Pro (Demo Available Here) Incredimail Letter Creator (Demo Available Here) Filters: Richard Rosenmen's Pixelate Here Mura's Seamless and FM Tile Tool Here Materials: A tube or graphic of your choice. (Note: If using a graphic you may want to apply a mask to your image. This step is not included in the following tutorial.) Let's begin! 1. Open tube or image of choice in Paint Shop Pro. 2. Copy the original and duplicate once. Close the original. 3. Resize the tube or image to a maximum width of 300 pixels. Sharpen your image if necessary using the sharpen tool of your choice from the Adjust menu in PSP. 4. Duplicate the resized tube or image and minimize one copy. 5. Choose two colors from your tube or image using your eye dropper tool; one light to medium color for the foreground and one medium to dark color for the background. 6. On one copy, resize to 1280 x the height of your tube or image + 25 pixels. Make sure "Lock Aspect Ratio" is *unchecked*. 7. Add a new raster layer and send it to the bottom. Using the floodfill tool, add the medium to dark color to the bottom layer. 8. Merge visible the image layer and floodfilled layer. 9. Apply "seamless tile" at default setting (corner, bidirectional) in the Effects menu. 10. Apply Gaussian Blur at 10 in the adjust menu. 11. Apply the filter Pixelate from the Richard Rosenmen plugin collection in the Effects menu using the following settings: Horizontal: 20 Vertical: 20 Mix: 50 Outline: 10 Outline: Additive checked R, G, B and Lock Horizontal/Vertical checked. 12. Apply the filter Shift At Wave from the Mura's Seamless plugin collection with its default setting. 13. Apply the filter Blend Emboss from the FM Tile Tools plugin collection with its default setting. Repeat if desired. 14. Apply "seamless tile" at default setting (corner, bidirectional) in the Effects menu. 15. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with your light to medium foreground color. Lower the opacity of this layer until your canvas is text friendly. 16. You may choose to add texture or noise to your floodfilled color layer now if you wish. 17. Merge visible these two raster layers together. 18. Apply "seamless tile" at default setting (corner, bidirectional) in the Effects menu. 19. Your tube or image should still be on your clipboard. Use "paste as a new layer" to add a copy of your tube or image to your canvas. 20. Move the tube or image to the far left of your canvas but leave room for a drop shadow on all sides. 21. Add an inner bevel and/or drop shadow of your choice to the tube or image layer. 22. Add any accents, extras or text you wish to have on your stationary at this time. 23. Add a new raster layer and apply your watermark. 24. Merge all layers flat. 25. Export as a .jpeg under the file menu. Set the optimization level at 25. 26. Open Incredimail Letter Creator and create a new stationary using your saved background canvas. When making your footer... (Note: If using a graphic you may want to apply a mask to your image. This step is not included in the following tutorial.) Let's begin! 1. Open tube or image of choice in Paint Shop Pro. 2. Duplicate image and close original. 3. Resize duplicate image to a maximum of 300 pixels in width and/or a maximum of 350 pixels in height. 4. Edit, copy. 5. Using your eye dropper tool, choose two colors of different tones from your image - a lighter color for the foreground and a medium to dark color for the background. 6. Minimize image for later use. 7. Open new transparent image 1280 x height of image + 25 pixels. (e.g., If the image you have chosen is 350 pixels in height, make the new canvas 375 pixels in height). 8. Selections, Select all, paste into selection, select none. 9. Effects, image effects, seamless tiling at default setting. 10. Layers, new raster layer, send to bottom. 11. Floodfill bottom layer with your background color. 12. Layers, merge, merge visible. 13. Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur, 10. 14. Apply the filter Funhouse, Patchring, 10. 15. Apply the filter FM Tile Tools, Blend Emboss at default settings. 16. Effects, image effects, seamless tile, default settings. 17. Layers, new raster. 19. Floodfill the new layer of your canvas with your foreground color. 20. Reduce the opacity of your floodfilled layer to your liking, being sure to make the canvas "text friendly". 21. Edit, paste as a new layer. Move your image to the left of the canvas. 22. Add an inner bevel to your tube or graphic if you wish. ex: Bevel #2, Width 10 smoothness 40 depth 1 ambience 5 shine 5 color white angle 315 intensity 50 elevation 30 23. Effects, 3D effects, drop shadow: Vertical and horizontal: 1 Opacity: 80 Blur: 12 Shadow on new layer unchecked. Or your drop shadow of choice. 24. Sharpen the graphic or tube if necessary; adjust, sharpness, sharpen. 25. Layers, add new raster layer and apply your watermark and place it where you want it. 26. Layers, merge all flatten. 27. File, export, jpeg optimizer set at 25. Name file and click save. 28. Open Incredimail Letter Creator and create a new stationary using your saved background canvas. Notes: When making your footer... Required Supplies: Programs: Paint Shop Pro (Demo Available Here) Incredimail Letter Creator (Available By Purchase Here) Materials: A tube of your choice. Accents if desired. Mask: Edgemask133ms (Download Here or Save from bottom of this tutorial) Settings remain the same unless otherwise noted. Part 1: Preparations 1. Open your tube. Duplicate (shift +D) your tube. Close the original. If necessary, crop your image. 2. Using your Dropper Tool, choose a light/medium color for your foreground and a dark color for your background. 3. Image, Resize: Width: No more than 200 pixels Height: No less than 300 pixels Resample Using: Smart Size Lock Aspect Ratio: Checked Resize All Layers: Checked 4. If your tube is blurred: Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen or: Adjust, Sharpness, Unsharp Mask: Radius: 5.00 Strength: 25 Clipping: 2 Luminance Only: Not Checked Or use settings of your preference. File, New: Width: 10 Height: Height of your tube + 25 pixels Raster Background: Checked Color: Your foreground color Transparent: Not Checked 2. Effects, Image Effects, Seamless Tiling: Tiling Method: Edge Direction: Vertical Width: 100 Transition: 50. 10. Layers, Duplicate. 11. Image, Mirror. 12. Activate your Move Tool. Using the left key on your keyboard, press down twenty times to move the duplicated border twenty pixels to the left. 13. Layers, Merge, Merge Down. 14. Layers, New Raster Layer. 15. Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom. 16. Activate your Flood Fill tool with these settings: Match Mode: RGB Value Tolerance: 20 Use All Layers: Not Checked Blend Mode: Normal Opacity: 100 18. Flood fill your bottom layer with your foreground color. 19. Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask From Disk: Mask: edgemask133_ms Source Luminance: Checked Fit To Canvas: Checked Invert Transparency: Checked Hide All Mask: Checked Click Load. 20. Layers, Merge, Merge Group. 21.Image, Canvas Size: Width: 300 22. Layers, New Raster Layer. 23. Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom. 24. Flood fill the bottom layer with your background color. 25. Mirrored Mosaic Tutorial by LMKuhns_Creations Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental and unintended. This tutorial assumes you know how to use basic menu tools and functions in Paint Shop Pro. It also assumes your are familiar with installing and using plugins (filters). This tutorial was written using PSP version #8. Required Supplies: Programs: Paint Shop Pro (Demo Available Here) Incredimail Letter Creator (Demo Available Here) Plugins: Neology (Blend Mosaic) (Here) Simple (Zoom Out and Flip) (Here) Materials: A tube of your choice. Let's begin! Part One: Tube Preparation 1. Open your tube of choice in Paint Shop Pro. 2. Duplicate image and close original. 3. Resize duplicate image to a maximum of 300 pixels in width and/or a maximum of 350 pixels in height. 4. Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen (if necessary). 5. Edit, copy. 6. Using your eye dropper tool, choose two colors of the different tones from your image - a light color for the foreground and a medium to dark for the the background. 7. Set your foreground to gradient: Foreground-Background Angle: 45 Repeats: 3 Invert not checked Style - Linear Texture not checked. 8. With your image active, go to: Image, Canvas Size: Width 1280 pixels (or your choice) Height of your tube + 50 pixels Placement: Left center Change Left Setting to 15. Allow top, right and bottom to self-adjust. Click OK. 9. Layers, New Raster Layer. 10. Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom. 11. Floodfill your canvas with your gradient. 12. Effects, Texture Effects, Fur: Blur: 10 Density: 90 Length: 25 Transparency: 44 13. Effects, Plugins, Neology, Blend Mosaic, Tile Size 14. 14. Effects, Plugins, Simple, Zoom Out and Flip. 15. Effects, Reflection Effects, Rotating Mirror: Horizontal Offset: 20 Vertical Offset: 15 Rotation Angle: 60 Edge Mode: Reflect 15b. Repeat Rotating Mirror step. 16. Image Effects, Seamless Tiling, Default. 17. Layers, New Raster Layer. 18. Floodfill with your choice of your light or dark color. 19. Lower the opacity of this layer until your canvas is text-friendly. 20. Make your top layer (with your tube) active. 21. Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel: Bevel: 2 Width: 8 Smoothness: 40 Depth: 2 Ambience: 0 Shininess: 0 Color: White Angle: 315 Intensity: 50 Elevation: 30 Or an inner bevel of your choice. 22. Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow: Vertical: 2 Horizontal: 2 Opacity: 45 Blur: 12 Shadow on new layer not checked. Or use a drop shadow setting of your choice. 22b. Repeat your drop shadow, changing your horizontal and vertical to the negative number (i.e. -2 if you've used my drop shadow example). 23. If you wish to add text or accents to your side bar image, do so now. 24. Layers, New Raster Layer. Apply your watermark in a place of your choice. 25. Layers, Merge, Merge All Flatten. 26. File, export, jpeg optimizer set at 25. Name file (e.g. "Stat1") and click save. 27. Open Incredimail Letter Creator and create a new stationary using your saved background canvas.
