Frosted Glass Tube Tutorial

This tutorial was created in PSP 9, but can easily be done in any version of PSP with little or no alteration

Supplies Needed:
Tube of Choice
?
Plugins Required:
Sapphire Filters 2-Sapphireplugin_0175 (Can also be found in Filters Unlimited 2.0)
Distort-Glass
Simple-Diamonds

Let's Begin
?
1. Open your Tube in PSP
Duplicate (Shift-D)
Close the Original
?
2. Image-Resize
Resize your Tube to no more than
340 Pixels in Heigth
Width will self adjust
Resample Using-Smart Size: Checked
Lock Aspect Ratio: Checked
Resize All Layers: Checked
?
3. Using your Dropper Tool-pick a? colour
from your Tube and set as your
Foreground Colour in
your Layers Pallette
?
4. Edit-Copy-Minimize
(Your Tube)
?
5. Open a New Transparent Image
1280 Pixels in Width
350 Pixels in Height
Raster Background: Checked
Transparent: Checked
?
6. Using your Floodfill Tool-fill your New Transparent
Image with your set Foreground Colour
?
7. Selections-Select All
?
8. Edit-Paste-Paste Into Selection
(Your Tube)

9. Selections-Select None
?
10. Adjust-Blur-Gaussian Blur
Radius: 20.00
?
11. Effects-Image Effects-Seamless Tiling
(Default Settings)

12. Effects-Plugins-Sapphire Filters 2-Sapphireplugin_0175
Red 1: 7
Red 2: 189
Green 1: 7
Green 2: 189
Blue 1: 7
Blue 2: 189
(Repeat this step 1 more time using the same settings)

13. Effects-Plugins-Distort-Glass
Distortion: 5
Smoothness: 3
Texture: Frosted
Scaling: 100%
Invert: Unchecked

14. Effects-Image Effects-Seamless Tiling
(Default Settings)

15. Effects-Plugins-Simple-Diamond

16. Effects-Plugins-Seamless Tiling
(Default Settings)

17. Optional Step:
If at this point?your background is to dark and you would like it to be more text friendly follow these 3 simple steps...
A. Layers-New Raster Layer
?
B. Using your Floodfill Tool-Fill your New Layer with your set Foreground Colour
?
C. Lower the opacity on this layer to between 50 and 70 Percent or whatever works best for you.
?
18. Edit-Paste-Paste as New Layer
(Your Tube)
?
19. Using your Move Tool-Move your tube to far left being careful not to touch sides of canvas
?
20. Optional Step:
(This step is best used if you are using a misted tube-Black edging may occur if you are using a non-misted tube. If not using this step-skip to # 24)
Effects-Plugins-Distort-Glass
Distortion: 2
Smoothness: 3
Texture: Tiny Lens
Scaling: 100%
Invert: Unchecked

21. Edit-Paste-Paste as New Layer
(Your Tube)

22. Image-Resize
Width: 75%
Hieght: 75%
Resample Using-Pixel Resize: Selected
Lock Aspect Ratio: Checked
Resize all Layers: Unchecked

23. Using your Move Tool-Move your tube to far left and center to your liking over bubbled layer of tube.

24. Optional Step:
Do Not use this step if you are using a misted tube.
Effects-3D Effects-Drop Shadow
Vertical: 2
Horizontal: 2
Opacity: 50
Blur: 5.00
Colour: Black
Shadow on New Layer: Unchecked

25. Layers-New Raster Layer
Add Your Watermark
?
26. Layers-Merge-Merge All Visible
?
27. File-Export-JPeg Optimizer
Compression set to: 20
Save Your Work!
