MIRRORED RIPPLE TUTORIAL

* Tube of your choice
* Plug-in: VM Distortion?/?Mosaic Ripple?
* Plug-in: IC NET Software / Filters Unlimited 2.0 / Paper Textures /
Canvas, Fine
LEVEL:
Beginner
PREPARING
1.????? Open your tube, largest side no more than 370 pixels.
2.????? Duplicate tube (Shift D) and close original
3.????? Choose a light color from tube and select it as foreground
color in your Materials Box.
4.???? Edit / Copy
5.????? Minimize Tube
BACKGROUND TILE
6.????? File / New Image: 400 x 400 (transparent)
7.??????Selections / Select All
8.????? Edit / Paste / Paste Into Selection
9.? ??Selections / Select None
10.? Layers / New Raster Layer
11.? In your Tool Bar activate your Flood Fill Tool
12.? Flood fill with your foreground color by left clicking in your
new image.
13.? Layers / Arrange / Send to Bottom
14.? Layers / Merge / Merge Visible
15. Effects / Image Effects / Seamless Tiling: Default
16. Adjust / Blur / Gaussian Blur: Radius of 10.
17. Effects / Plugins / VM Distortion / Mosaic Ripple:
Settings: Size: 255 and Amount: 255
18. Effects / Plugins / I.C.NET Software / Filters Unlimited 2.0 /
Paper Textures / Canvas, Fine. Settings: Intensity: 156 and
Lightness: 87.
19. Effects / Image Effects / Seamless Tiling: Default settings
20. Layers / Duplicate
21. Image / Mirror
22. In your Layers Palette lower the opacity of the top layer to 50
23. Layers / Merge / Merge Visible
24. Effects / Image Effects / Seamless Tiling: Default
25.?Your background tile is now ready, minimize
BACKGROUND
26. File?/ New Image: 1680 x 400, transparent You can
change the width, but not the height.
27. In the Materials box change your background color to
pattern
28. Click once in the color box to enter your Materials
Properties box.
29. In your Material Properties box choose your new
background tile.
30. Put your settings to Angle: 0, Scale: 50.
31. Right click once in your image to flood fill your image with
the pattern (background tile)
The pattern should seamless tile, but if not, please do so now.
Effects / Image Effects / Seamless Tiling: Default.
32. Layers / New Raster Layer
33. Flood fill your new layer with your foreground color by left
clicking in your image
34. In your Layers Palette lower the opacity of your top layer to
a number between 30 and 60 to make the background more
text friendly. I chose in one of my examples for 46.
35. Layers / Merge / Merge All (Flatten)
36. Edit / Paste / Paste As New Layer
37.? In your Tool Bar activate your Move Tool
38. With your Move Tool move your tube to the left corner
and center it there.
39.?Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow: settings: Vertical &
Horizontal: 3, Opacity: 40, Blur: 10 and Color: Black. Shadow
on?new layer: NOT checked.
For a misted tube you can skip the drop shadow.
ADDING TEXT
40. In your Materials box choose a contrasting dark color from
your tube as foreground color.
41. In your Materials box change your pattern back to color.
42. Choose a lighter color as background color. Or exactly the
same color as in your foreground color box.
43. In your Tool Bar activate your Text Tool
44. In your Presets Bar choose these settings: Create as
Vector, Font: choose a nice font, Size 36, Stroke Width: 1,0,
other settings at default.
45. Write your text above your tube
46.?Layers / Convert to Raster Layer
47. Effects / Plugins / I.C.NET Software / Filters Unlimited 2.0 /
48. Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow: Settings: Vertical &
Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 100, Blur:?1 and Color: Black. Shadow
on new layer: NOT checked.
49. Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow: Settings: Vertical &
50. Layers?/ New Raster Layer
51. Add your Watermark
52. Layers / Merge / Merge All (Flatten)
53. File?/ Export?/ JPEG Optimizer: compression of 22
FINISHING
