I just returned from the NMRA Convention in Kansas City. It was a great convention. Model Trains, Railfanning, and BBQ. Really good combination. Next year the convention will be in Salt Lake City. they have another fantastic time planned for attendees. The registration price is $119 on the web site now. It will be higher soon. By Cajon Division -PSR Page The 2018 PSR Convention is being hosted by the San Diego Division of the Pacific Southwest Region, NMRA (http://www.sandiegodivision.org/). The Convention begins on Wednesday, September 12th, and ends Sunday, September 16th, 2018. Events include clinics, layout tours, prototype tours, auction and banquet.

By Cajon Division -PSR Page Model Railroads of Southern California fifty-sixth and fifty-seventh layout tours take place on Saturday, September 22, and Saturday, September 29, in Orange County. Tour #56 will be a self-guided tour of three model railroads and one garden railroad at three locations. Todd Scott's layout in Irvine will be appearing for the first time on our tour. Tour #57 will be a self-guided tour of five model railroads and two garden railroads at seven locations. In all likelihood this will be the final public showing of Randy Scott's On3 D&RGW layout. Randy plans to remodel his house and build a new layout in the process. This is a free event and you may bring relatives and friends. The railroads and schedules are listed below. If you would like descriptions of the railroads and maps showing their general locations, please e-mail me. Persons taking this tour assume all risks and liability for their personal safety. Although I am the Moderator of Model Railroads of Southern California, I am not responsible for personal loss or injury to persons taking this tour. Please also note that youth under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Do not bring pets into the home locations. Be sure to review the Model Railroads of Southern California website the day before each tour to check for any changes to the schedule or layout lineup. And coming October 4-7 is the Central Coast Railroad Festival layout tour. Nearly thirty model railroads and garden railroads will be featured on this free tour. More information to follow. Saturday, January 12, 2019 Noon 'til 3:00 pm "Shotgun" Tom Kelly - El Cajon, CA You’re invited to the home of "Shotgun" Tom Kelly for the unveiling of his HO Train layout. The 10 foot by 7 foot layout encompasses a downtown area (complete with a radio and television station), a residential area, industrial area and a full railroad yard. The layout, designed by Tom, was constructed by Lloyd’s Layouts in Paramount, California. The owners, Lloyd and Besty Kluesner, are indeed Master Train Layout Builders, and will be present at the open house to answer all of your questions about the layout construction. This is a one day event and will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Event admission will still be $20 for NMRA and $25 for non-NMRA. $3 for entrance to swap meet only. Each six-foot table will be $10 for sellers. Pizza and drink lunch will be $8.00. Free lunch will still be offered to those that bring model for display or merit evaluation in the Show Room. The California South Coast On30 Group will be set up in the Children’s Chapel as of Friday afternoon and will be up and running until Sunday afternoon.
