CADACO 1965
I have complete set of discs from 1965 and 1966. The lists I have indicate Billy Williams as a LF in 65, mine indicates CF? I double checked my 1966 Williams which is also correctly CF for 1966, the number sequence is exactly on the discs but the spacing is a little different, so probably from different years? Does anyone know the answer for 1965> LF or CF? Please email any response to chicmiles@... Thanks. Chic from NJ

Hello, I am looking for checklists for all all star baseball discs 13 #sets-by-year
Larry Kilbride, Terry Ryan, Mike Garrett, and more. If this is a place to acquire this information, that's great. I am not internet savvy, and if there is a lot of tech involved in this group, I'll have to go elsewhere. I have been playing ASB since 1968, my Dad since 1943. Thank you for your time. Dave Hammer

ASB Collection
I have agreed to handle the sales of Brock Hanke's large collection. Once I receive the games and sets from Brett Hanks, I will catalog the stuff and post it with the group. All selling and bargaining for the games will be done through personal emails and not through the group's site. So please do not send your requests until I post the list. Thank you. Bob Keefer

Brock Hanke Deceased - Liquidating his Collection 4 #obits #offers
I regret to report that my brother, Brock Hanke, died on May 31st of COPD. His instructions to me were to contact the Yahoo Group for Cadaco All-Star Baseball and get help identifying who would be the best choice for assigning the project to liquidate his collection. He describes his holdings as "I still have all the player discs for them all, and the games go back to 1941. I have a virtually complete run." He also said that Bob Keefer was the most likely person who would contact me. He added: "But the group is honest and they all know me, so someone sane will show up. Just make sure it's the guy that the group agrees to assign to the project, to avoid hustlers." Help! Brett

New League Forming!
A group of enthusiasts is starting up a new ASB league! The Federal League is seeking owner/managers to join with a start set for October. We are hoping to begin with at least 12 teams for Season 1. The league will be free to join, and use rules that allow for pitching and stealing as well as revised keys for hitting results. The initial draft will allow each owner to select 40 players with which to start their team. Major league players as recognized by MLB (and included in Baseball Reference) from across the history of the sport will be available for drafting, with an eye towards creating a competitive balance across the league. If interested please contact Douglas Harvey via email at dharvey34@... for more information.

All-Star Baseball News Volume #104 6 #AllStarNews
Also just in time for holiday week, John Rose has just released All-Star Baseball News Volume #104, which includes full sets of four great 1970s teams in .pdf format, along with another slew of interesting articles -- a particularly tasty edition, just speaking for myself there. Contact Bob Keefer if you want more information on how to get on John's ASB News e-mail list, or how to obtain hard-copy versions of ASB News, or how to acquire John's indispensable ASB Resource Book on CD. _____________________________________________________

Original Cadaco disks 3
Hi, I'm new to the group but been playing Cadaco Baseball off and on since 1968. I'm looking for copies of the original All Time All-stars that were numbered 1-10. Especially sets 2-6. Would I be able to find them here? And if so, How do I find them? I'm also looking for some of the original Hall of Fame set, especially Mickey Mantle. It was unusual because it had two 7s.

Cadaco MLBPA All Star Baseball Score Book Pads 8.5x13
Cadaco MLBPA All Star Baseball Score Book Pads 8.5x13. Blue ink, white paper. I found two pads at the bottom of an ASB game I bought. Had never seen them before. Could it be because I only "do" the pre-1960 ASB games? Are these pads rare? Are they dime a dozen?

A-E F-J percentages #diskmaking
I'm looking to create a single disc that will have 3 rings. One for A-E, one for F-J and one for K-P. I am using modified percentages for K-P. Does anyone know the percentages for the other two rings?

Johnny Mize 1947 original Cadaco-Ellis disc 4 #disks
I am with Mr. Rose. If anybody has an original of the 1947 Cadaco-Ellis Johnny Mize disc, I should would appreciate it if the owner would scan it and send me a copy. Love the game and enjoy the emails coming from this group. There are a lot of informed, creative people in this group who are very knowledgeable of baseball generally and All Star Baseball, in particular, and I am really delighting in it all in my last years. Nick Panos 4 #obits
Hello everyone, I am sorry to inform every one that Nick Panos has passed away. Many of you know that he was an innovator of the ASB game and donated many sets of discs to this group. If anyone wants the link to his tribute I will be pleased to provide it. I am thinking that he also helped start this group as well, although I did not join this group until 2008. Dan

Gene Newman Discs, Stadium Boxes 5 #member_disks
I thought I would leave a brief post about the Gene Newman discs which I have intermitantly posted over the last few years. Gene sent me three boxes of mostly uncut discs before his passing. Made by others than himself. After his passing, his family sent me a "ton" of other ASB stuff mostly discs. I scanned nearly all of them into my computer as most were on paper and not card stock. These thousands of discs were mostly of Gene's creation and on paper. He had minor leaguers, AAGPBL, International League, Americans in Japan, etc.and many foreign countries. His daughter approved and encouraged me to give them to others which I have tried to do here. I quick note about the stadium boxes, a friend of mine contacted me about someone else that made them. He was unable to locate that person. One day I thought I would try to make one and off to Hobby Lobby I went. With mearly, cardboard, labels, printer and computer I started making them. Anyone can do it! Spinners have become an expensive problem for future construction. Bill Judge makes great spinners but that adds costs to construction. I was fortunate to have had a box of spinners when I started. Metal spinners are no longer available in the Cadaco size. I have had problems with the labels wanting to come lose. Mark Evan suggested I cover them with clear contact paper. That seemed to help and extend the life of the boxes. Merry Christmas to all.

Discs and pics courtesy of Dan Heyvaert 2 #files #member_disks
Merry Christmas and/or Happy Hanukkah, everybody! Here, courtesy of Dan Heyvaert, are some holiday gifts for your disc collections and viewing pleasure... Go to the Files section of the Forum [ /g/CadacoAllStarBaseball , as a reminder for any of you who participate exclusively by e-mail ] and find folders titled "AAGPBL by Gene Newman" and "Stadium Boxes by Dan Heyvaert" -- the first contains nine .pdf files of discs researched and created by the Forum's late great founder Gene, those files relayed to us by Dan from Gene's archives. The second folder contains four photos showing Dan's own creations, and hopefully he'll be along soon to post some background and some details about what's he's put together there. Looks good! Thanks, Dan! _____________________________________________________________________
