Cab Converter & Bitdefender 3
I'm running Catalina 10.15.7 and recently rebuilt my Mac (software) from a complete erase to clean up years of crud that had accumulated. I've reinstalled CabConverter, put the recipes in my ~/Documents and it can't find them. I'm now using using Bit Defender antivirus which I hadn't used the last time I ran CabConverter. I'm getting no warning messages from you or then. N ormally I can tell BD to accept a program accessing files in ~/Documents, but it doesn't accept the .jar as an app to be allowed to access other files. Where is the app that actually accesses the Doc folder and/or is this something that I should take up with Bitdefender? Thanks.

Recipe for Portable Operations Challenge 7
Is anyone aware of a recipe for the Portable Operations Challenge ( https://foxmikehotel.com/challenge/ ) from this past weekend? I tried creating a recipe, placing in the Documents/CCContents folder, but it's not being recognized by the program. Hoping someone has already correctly created the recipe.... Thanks in advance, Jack NG2E

Incorrect mode mapping? 2
According to the Cabrillo QSO Data Specification, the mode in the Cabrillo file is only supposed to be one of {CW,PH,FM,RY,DG). I'm usually a CW-only operator, but for Field Day this year, I dabbled in FT4 and FT8 because band conditions were poor at my QTH. I noticed that CabConverter doesn't appear to be mapping the modes from ADIF format properly. In particular, FT8 is being passed through as mode FT8, and FT4 is appearing as MFSK (the ADIF specification says FT4 is mode MFSK, submode FT4). Looking at CabrilloQSO.java in CabConverter, it looks like the program consolidates a couple of ADIF modes to the correct values but passes through everything else directly from the ADIF mode attributes. This seems broken. Both FT4 and FT8 contacts should appear as mode DG in the Cabrillo file. This is what wsjtx does when generating its Cabrillo output. Am I missing something here? I've seen others in this group remark that they had to edit the Cabrillo file to manually make this change. Thanks, Don KK4E

RSGB VHF Contests 9
All the RSGB VHF contests seem to have a three part exchange, consisting of: RS(T) + 3 Digit Serial Number + 6 digit locator. Is there a recipe available that can handle this? I can¡¯t seem to find one. 73¡¯s Alan G3UCF

IARU HF World Championship recipe refreshed 3
Colleagues, I have updated the files for the IARU HF World Championship contest. Please (as always) read the documentation and set up MacLoggerDX as described. I will be in the contest myself, so I will test the recipe upon the close of the contest. If there are problems, I'll upload a fix to the recipe. 73 and GL in the contest! -- Scott (NE1RD and author of CabConverter)

CabConverter Version Number skew
Colleagues, There was something of a scramble when we discovered that CabConverter was acting up on some computers. It might have been me: I might have built it wrong once. But I also know that some things have been changing in the Mac-Java-world, also, if only in the security settings. I planned on putting out a release with small improvements when this series of hiccups hit. And, I wasn't all that careful about version numbers when I was just trying to get things to work. The bottom line is: I plan on releasing a new version (say, version 2.2) in the near future that should run on everybody's Mac, and have those few niceties in it. Sorry for the mess. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY TROUBLE RUNNING THE PROGRAM. I may have missed something, and I'd very much like to get back to a stable release we could live with for a while. Thank you, and as always, GL in the contest! -- Scott (NE1RD)

CC version upgrade 2
Hi Scott Well, the formula for IARU worked flawlessly. I wanted to let you know, I am still using CC 1.0 and can't seem to upgrade to 2.0. Initially I described my dilemma, but if you think running 1.0 will suit my needs, I'll be happy with that. tnx fer all you do, 73 todd WB2ZAB

CabConverter.jar Error On Launch 5
When I try to open CabConverter.jar I get an error window with the message: The Java JAR File "CabConverter.jar" could not be launched. Check the Console for possible error messages. Checking the console didn't yield any useful information so I tried running the file from a Terminal window. When I run from Terminal I get the following error: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: CabConverter. Any thoughts? Many thanks!

CabConverter doesn't read any QSOs from my ADIF file 7
Generated my own ADIF file using LOTW. But when I click on any adi or adx file no QSOs show up on the right hand side and thus can't generate a Cab file? Any idea what's wrong?

Field Day 2020 Submission 3
Good morning! Even though yesterday was quite rough for my first Field Day, only yielding 38 contacts in 9 hours, I am still happy to have gotten that many. What I¡¯m wondering is when setting up the ADIF file to become a cabrillo format, what do the power levels refer to? I assume low is QRP, medium is less than 150W, and high is everything higher than that? Thanks!

ARRL 2020 VHF June Contest - 6
Hello Everyone, Not to wait until the last minute...., but, on the ARRL VHF recipe I only see CW or SSB: Is there not an "all" category for dig, phone & CW? I looked at the ARRL rules and they don't seem to have a specific mode entry, but CanConverter only gives the CW or SSB option. Help? 73, Jeff/wb0m

Grid Square syntax?
I'm trying to submit a Cabrillo file for the ARRL June VHF contest and it requires grid squares for the QSO. How do I reference the QSO in the recipe XML file? CabConverter 2.10 released 17
Fellow contesters, I've begun making small changes to CabConverter to make it a little easier to use. In this release, I've sorted the list of contests in alphabetical order. (It is nice that we have so many contests supported now that this became an issue!) At some point, I may collect all the contests in the Files area and put them into the official release. Then, new members would only need to fetch the latest .tar file to get everything. Many thanks to those who have been assisting with recipe development and updates. This is what keeps the application fresh. More, please! -- Scott (NE1RD and author of CabConverter) PS You can see the project on GetHub here: https://github.com/bsandersen/CabConverter
